" . . . their bias should be the same in both polls."
You're such an innocent. If they're willing to bias their polls, in other words, to make them deliberately misleading, then that means they're willing to lie. If one is willing to lie, doesn't it make sense then to use those lies to ACCOMPLISH something? It's much more effective to play with the results in such a way that public opinion is manipulated. By overstating the Bush lead after the Republican convention, and making it disappear altogether now, they can create the impression that the momentum has completely shifted away from Bush and towards Kerry. The big MO, you know. If you're a stocktrader in real life, you should know the drill-- the analysts hype a stock beyond all rational basis, then all bail at once. Some people make a killing, but most people get screwed, and neither the overly rosy view nor the overly gloomy view was ever a fair representation of reality.
The moral of the story is, never trust a liar. Even if they're telling you what you want to hear. Liars lie.
I believe Bush won the debate.
Exactly, exactly, EXACTLY!
(Besides which, Kerry looked like a corpse at the debate. ;o)
That's exactly how I feel about W. I always pick good men. I picked my hubby out of three choices. I trust my instinct on picking winners. I pick W.
if we think long and hard enough, there are probably some questions that Senator Kerry has answered properly. In fact, without a doubt, the most profound thing he's ever said in his life is "I do."
Twice.
Methinks their lives are lacking something significant.........
Louisiana is Bush country. No if's and's or but's.
Alot of new names, for sure.
The place seems occupied by others, to me.
Alaska will overwhelmingly support Bush - no doubts up here!
pbrown, you're a great American.
You're one of the few others here, beside me, that is willing to face reality at the risk of being flamed. The rest are being Pollyannas. W. blew a golden opportunity to nail to bury Kerry (and I don't know whether to laugh out loud or shake my head in disgust at those people who think that W. flubbed the debate on purpose as some kind of "strategy"--WTF?!), an opportunity that won't come along again. From here on in it's going to be trench warfare.
LOL!
This is what I'm thinking now: Bush knows he has to whomp Kerry in the next debate, and he will show up in much better shape...AND he will reference of the whoppers Kerry said in the first debate. Such as "My opponent believes in a Global Consensus on self-defense, but I don't know of too many parents who'd look for outside voices when it comes to defending their kids" or something. I think we will hear many of the things brought up in the first debate repeated here and there in this one.
After looking at Rasmussen, ABC, CBS (yeah, I know), Gallup, I'm convinced this Newsweek poll is a mess, like their others. Discount this ONE poll and Bush is ahead.
Rasmussen Reports says:
Six percent (6%) of voters say the debate changed their mind about how they will vote this November. This includes 3% who now say they will vote for Kerry, 2% for Bush, and 1% who are now undecided.
One interesting twist is that 64% of Kerry voters now say that Presidential Debates are very important. However, only 23% of Bush voters share that view.
I believe you're on the wrong website.
I was on the debate thread. It was, indeed, sad.
He is MAGNIFICENT in speech and demeanor with REAL people (not dead ones like Kerry).
I KNOW, because I am IN this picture (with my husband and one of our sons......see if you can find us ;o).
WOW!!! He is AMAZING!
Thank you rushmom. I have a family I love. Kerry doesn't love my family. But I see W does. I put all of their lives in his hands to protect. Kerry would have me put them in the hands of France or the U.N.
