It seemed simple enough. Falls Church officials recently drafted a policy that would require city workers to call 911 immediately if anyone stepped onto city property carrying a gun. Police who responded would check to see if the gun was properly licensed and report their findings to city officials.
............snip..................
About 30 people, pistols strapped to their hips, strode into the council's meeting this week protesting the policy and warning that it violates their constitutional right to bear arms -- and possibly state laws, as well.

What is your problem?
On your first day, weren't you new too?
Are you aware of some heinous deed that he perpetrated beside being new and an honest democrat?
In PA, we have more A rated Democrats in the State House than we do Pubbies.
If I had a choice of an anti "R" and a pro "D", I'll take the "D". And he's right about Bush. He's better, but nothing to get excited about - on a lot of levels.
Call me a troll too if you want. I've been with FR for two years before my 'born on' date.
Which choice outside of Bush and sKerry fits your appetite? Are you a 3rd Party candidate possibility, and if so, which?
Are you voting for sKerry too?
Yeah, but he lives in Guam and has limited resources to do anything about it.
Sorry, but I give you a day or two here. You have too many of the DUisms going to give a good ride.
You are right though; a lot of Dims do believe in the RKBA. But they will cut off their nose to spite their face. As will you.

All 5 of them...
I'll take your kindly offered slack. Although I hunt a bit, I'm much more into the handgun sports. The 2A isn't about hunting deer with your trusty double barrel.
You can trace the rise of the neo-expletives to the abandonment of the DP by conservatives, classic liberals, and freedom lovers during the 80's and 90's. That left a power vacuum. And guess who rushed in to fill it?
Bad strategic move in the long run.
Doing my best to stay above the fray and look at the election as being more about national survival than I do any other issue. In my view there is only one choice and will vote for the only person capable of performing that task. Thankfully, he's a Republican.
Guns have never been an issue with me. I have always had what I needed when and where I needed them. I've never allowed anyone to abridge my right to self-defense. I was born to die of old age, as we all were. Some folks choose to leave their fate to others -- falsely believing that they will never become a victim of banditry or violence, and barring accidents, sickness, or war, will have their lives cut short by a bully. I hate bullies.
We have a two party system. Other menu choices need not apply.
Were it otherwise, I'd be looking at conservative D's or L's who weren't advocating the privatization of sidewalks.
It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.

This of course, raises the question of why you stayed. But seeing that Zell still has a D after his job title, such a critter can exist... but you should have Endagered Species status.
We have lots of good shooting threads here. You won't find that at DU. If you decide to stay, be sure to fill in your profile page.
Before you get exorcised over this , allow me a bit of leeway, your honor.
Which party's president pushed thru the USA PATRIOT ACT?
Which party's president gave us CFR?
Which party's president gave us drugs for geezers?
Which party's president said he would sign an AWB renewal?
Which party's president now wants 527s made illegal?
Tell me why I should be thrilled about the GOP. I wouldn't vote for Kerry if he was the only one running and a gun was at my head. The fact that Bush is better on some issues and a lot better on a few, doesn't mean that he is good enough to earn my vote either. I'm more concerned about rights and liberty than anything else.
And you can read that anyway that you care to.
Distinti saluti, veni vidi vici. Preferisco il nome "e tu, Brute?", pero vostro nome e buono.
I wouldn't know about Guam or how honest the people are there. But I do know about Virginia and Virginians. There are some solid, honest, pro-gun Democrats here. In much the same way that there are in OK, AK, and in other states. It's not so simple as D bad, bad, bad and R good, good, good. There are examples of saints and sinners in both parties.
I don't know what a DU is. Not quite that familiar with the lingo yet, although most of it I've picked up.
Time will tell as to how long I'll last.
DU is DemocraticUnderground.com, a wretched cesspool of scum and villany... the very worst of the liberal mindset. If you want to see what folks are steering the D-Bus these days, go take a look, but be prepared to shower afterwards.
Sometimes they come an visit us, post obscenities, gay porn pictures, etc... all good liberal fun.
Why I stayed? I wasn't in the DP when this all happened. But I saw it happen and we all now live with the repercussions.
This is a two party system. One or the other wins. Best to light a candle than curse the darkness in my view.
you rabble rousing down there again, you falls churcher you?
LOL! Funny AND accurate.
OK, you try to refrom 'em from the inside, and I'll keep trying to beat them at the polls.
Maybe your moniker isn't an oxymoron? Well, anything is possible.

I don't view posting pornography or resorting to personal attacks or immoral behavior as being "good liberal fun." Actually, it sounds like a good way of turning people off. And speaks volumes about your own character as well. You saved me a visit.
BTW...by "liberal", which variety are we talking about?
Free speech usually works. But not in the ways people necessarily expect. Give some people rope, they do something productive with it. Other people just hang themselves.
Oh, has anyone noticed that this article is inadvertently getting bumped like mad? That's great. VCDL's efforts deserve recognition.
If you got driver's license at 16 thru drivers education, you could even park your jalopy outside the school with your .22 rifle unbreeched n unloaded in the rear jalopy window.
We were all hunters then with our uncles and fathers for deer in hunting season.
We were all marksmen- could hit a ground hog's ears shadows at 500 yards.
these people want to change things anew to a strange way that isn't the same reality that is our American traditions since 1607.
If you check the comic books since the 1930's you can see pocketknives advertised in there for kids to buy, totally unprohibited as the law allowing such a purchase was delineated under the ads.
