5 power companies defend against global warming lawsuit
By LARRY NEUMEISTER Associated Press Writer

NEW YORK -- Some of the nation's largest power companies on Thursday defended efforts to reduce carbon dioxide emissions, saying a lawsuit accusing them of neglecting the threat of global warming seeks a "piecemeal response" to a worldwide problem.
In court papers filed in U.S. District Court in Manhattan, the companies said the July lawsuit brought by eight states, the City of New York and three nonprofit land trusts wants the court to usurp the role of Congress and the president.

What's worse, Lawyers or Environmentalists?

The power companies should then shut down service to the effected states, explaining that they don't want these benovolent states to contribute to pollution.
See how fast the citizens of those states put an end to this nonsense.
And I'm saying this as a resident of one of the states! I'm willing to go without power for 24 hours to settle this. And believe me, it wouldn't take more than 24 hours without electricity for liberal heads to roll.

The proper response is for the Power Companies to counter-sue the plaintiffs on the basis that they continue to breathe, exhaling carbon dioxide and thus contributing to global warming.

Cut the Juice. Everyone can move into the numerous Kerry estates. And we can have slaves to boot.

What's interesting is that one of those being sued is The Tennessee Valley Authority, part of the federal government. That should be interesting.

I love your reply.
Perhaps a counter-suit to the attorneys for creating more co2 than normal is a better path.

I haven't read the complaint. But, it sounds like it could get tossed on lack of jurisdiction and/or merit.

I just thought I'd be a Smartass and throw something out there to munch on. Have you ever wondered how Environmentalists live, drive to work, drive to a protest, wash, cook food, heat and light their homes, watch television, eat meat, wear polyester clothing, fly. Or, do they live in caves, walk, grow their vegetables, never eat meat, rub sticks together, never bath or wash clothing, or never flush waste. Hmmmm, something to think about huh. Hypocrites.

In the late 60's and early 70's environmentalists said we were in for a new ice age. Now, the same environmentalists are saying we're in for global warming (as if that's a bad thing).
What makes the environmentalists position funny is that the local or national weatherman can't predict the weather accurately 5 days out, let alone 25 years into the future.

correction:
In spite of being unable to forcast weather over a five day period, they are able to forcast the climate over 25 years from now. It's like being able to put a man on the moon but not being able to balance one's checkbook.
sarcasm off...
