Just got off the phone with a WashDC contact and I don't know what to make of his analysis.
My take was a tired GWB with fatigued tongue from whatever occurred that day be it war or hurricane.
His take is with 2 more debates to go, GWB is playing a game with Kerry.
I don't know. I know there is an October surprise coming, two of them in fact have been mentioned, so maybe he knows more than I allow.
That's what I was thinking, too. He had been viewing the hurricane damage yesterday, while skerry slept.
Any kind of thinking that suggest that there is a 'game' being played, or that somehow the Bush squad made some kind of strategic decision to throw the first debate (or at least deliberately appear underwhelming) borders on the day-to-day lunacy we see on DU.
