This article is 5 pages of all the information you need to prove that it isn't going to happen. This is the best:

Are Your Going to be Drafted?

Here we go again. Ever since the First Gulf War (1990), hardly a year goes by where we aren't inundated by rumors of re-instatement of a military draft. This year, of course, is no different, as we are in the middle of a presidential race.

Vice presidential candidate John Edwards recently publicly stated that there would be no draft under a Kerry presidency. That alludes, without actually stating it, that a draft is likely if President Bush is reelected. There is an email floating around which specifically states (without any credible evidence) that Bush is secretly planning to re-instate the draft sometime in 2005, following the elections.

Let's take a look at the real facts:

First and foremost, one must understand that the President does not have the authority to re-institute the draft.

ALL 15 sponsers of the reinstate the draft amendment are DEMOCRATS. So they're blowing hot air at you and probably don't know any better, since they're typical drones that just follow suit as their puppet masters intend so.

Tell them it's more spin from the MSM (CBS/NBC) and the only person who'd been beating this drum for the past two years is Charlie Rangle who finally found another Democrat to co-sponser a bill the Republicans have already said is DOA and the President would veto if it ever did reach his desk.

Tell them we already have one million men and women in our military and the problem is not available solders, the problem is and was supply lines; which in the future will possibly be handled by paid contractors rather than military... oh, yes, tell them that John Kerry and other Dems are the one's who keep saying we need MORE people in the military and in Iraq and Afghanistan..... you might also tell them there is military other than army and marines (Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard) and if a person does go in, and is dedicated and hard-working, they can build a very good resume' along with experience and maturity that could carry them forward in life.

There is a lot worse things in life than Government work of any kind and if I was young enough to be starting my career path over again I'd seriously look at the opportunities available -- if a person is good at languages, learn Arabic -- there is now and probably going forward going to be a lot of demand for translators...

Lastly, if they are already in college, tell them it's time to think for themselves and learn how to investigate and find out what is true instead of spin in the world... a mature adult is not a sheep.

Senate Bill 89 (S 89)
House of Representatives Bill 163 (HR 163)
Thomas.loc.gov
If they look up the sponsoring Senators they will see that all are Democrats. You can mention "scare tactics" here, as that is what the Left is employing.

There was this one girl (who is incredibly ignorant in my mind) saying how if the draft is brought back, she plans to get pregnant multiple times.

If she's cute offer to help.

Direct them to the democratic party since all the sponsors of the two bills are democrats.

Refer them to a transcript of last night's debate. Bush said that under his Administration the armed forces would be a volunteer force. Kerry didn't commit himself on this issue.

S 89 Bill sponsored by Sen. Fritz Hollings (D-SC) in early 2003, read once, no further action. HR 163 sponsored by Charles Rangel (D- NY 15th Dist.) and cosponsored by: John Conyers (D-Mich. 14th Dist.), Jim McDermott (D-WA 17th Dist.), Neil Abercrombie (D-HI 1st Dist.), Fortney Pete Stark (D-CA 13th Dist), John Lewis, (D-GA 5th Dist.), Corinne Brown (D-FL 3rd Dist.), William Lacy Clay (D-MO 1st Dist.), James P. Moran (D-VA 8th Dist.), Sheila Jackson (D-TX 18th Dist.), Eleanor H. Norton (D-DC), Nydia M. Belazquez (D-NY 12th Dist.), Alcee Hastings (D-FL 23rd Dist.)HR was read the same day as S 89, then once again. It has been referred to two subcommittees and no further action has been taken since early 2003.

Anyone like to hazard a guess as to WHY they wrote and sponsored these bills? I'll give you two guesses and the first one doesn't count.
