My take is: Kerry is great debater - so what?
Kerry is a great debater, which is great for a Senator.
But the President of the United States of America must make decisions, not simply debate them.
Bush can make a decision, and has the track record to prove it. Kerry has absolutely no good record for making decisions of any kind - recall that he hates lengthy menus? - and has no perceptable leadership qualities. I hope people remember that. I, for one, intend to remind them at every chance.
Maybe after this is over, Kerry will consider running for the Senate.
Exactly!!! The media is treating this debate like it was the thing that would break the tie in a close election. Excuse me, but this is not that close (yet, it probably will be, but not yet). Bush had the lead coming in. Why?? Not because Bush is better spoken or more polished etc. Bush is leading because more people agree with him on the issues.
The media has become too taken with the beauty contest and forgot that it is about issues. I mean honestly, FOX was even comparing who had better facial expressions. As if suddenly the electorate are going to change their minds about Bush. "Hey, I used to like Bush until he frowned." I agree that Kerry was smoother, but that does not change the fact that his views regarding the subject matter of the debates are not accepted by a majority of the electorate.
Good post and welcome to FR!
Someone on another thread said it well last night....
When speaking - kerry lies better than President Bush tells the truth.
