Wow that was fun, even though I didn't see Jr's interview I will see some of it on Nascar Victory Lane here in a bit.!!
Thanks everyone for a fun day.
Kansas is next.
I think I finished 1-8-22 (upside down) and 25. Not so good for a first place team ;-(
Although JuniorsDreamTeam and Jr in first place for this week. ;-) WooooHooooooo

(Politically, Junior does side with the NASCAR dads. He’s a Republican and he supports Bush!!!)
Chase winners/losers, Week 3 (complete with the first BIG LOSER):
- Dale Earnhardt, Jr. - Semi-loser (yep, you heard me right) - He'd still be leading, but by 13 points instead of 10.
- Kurt Busch - BIG WINNER - Instead of 4th and 225 points back, he's 2nd and 13 back.
- Jeff Gordon - Loser - He loses a spot and 51 points courtesy of the Chase.
- Mark Martin - THE BIG WINNER - 4 spots and 403 points closer to his first Cup. If he or Matt win, look for NA$CAR to bring back the 2003 rules (180 points for a win, 5 points for a pole and NO Chase) a half-hour after Homestead.
- Matt Kenseth - BIG WINNER - 1 spot and 294 points closer to defending the Cup.
- Tony Stewart - still a mixed bag - would be a spot closer, but 136 points further out without the Chase.
- Ryan Newman - BIG WINNER - He'd be out of contention well back in 10th and a mere 25 points out of the NYC ticket.
- Jimmie Johnson - THE BIG LOSER - Instead of 3rd and 172 points back, he's 9th and 176 points back. Lowe's oughta reconsider its sponsorship of the Lowe's Motor Speedway.
- Jeremy Mayfield - BIG WINNER - Without the guaranteed ticket to NYC, he'd be 13th and 128 points away from going.
- Jamie McMurray - Semi-loser - Without the Chase, he'd still be out of contention and only have one more person and no more points between him and no trip to New York.
- Dale Jarrett - semi-loser - He'd be 11 points closer to NYC.
- Kasey Kahne - semi-loser - See DJ, substitute "a double-dip" for "NYC".
- Bobby Labonte - semi-loser - See DJ.

My 16 year old son was in the infield this weekend (his 6th Talladega race) and hubby and I were listening to the end of the race on the radio. When they interviewed Jr. afterward he answered a question about coming up from 14th place and then commented about his great fans in turn one. Minutes later I called my son and asked his where he was. He yelled "Turn One" - he was so excited Jr. had won and had acknowledged the rowdy crowd I allow that child to go with to Talladega.
We didn't hear any cussing on the radio and I hope NASCAR doesn't deduct points. The race is too close and I bet Jr would gladly pay a fine.

JR brought out a good point on the "cuss" thing. He said it in excitement, whereas the 2 who were fined gave thier obscenity laced answers after being wrecked.
Yes Jr. said SH&T, Yes Jr should be fined, but if NASCAR deducts 25 points and changes the outcome of the Championship over this they will lose more fans than they could ever imagine.
For those who didn't hear the quote or the context --- Jr had just climbed from the car and was celebrating an exciting victory -- Reporter asked : "How important is it to win for 5th time at Talladega" -- JR : "It don't mean sh&T, hell my daddy won here 10 times."
