Bush seemed sleep-deprived. Having been sleep-deprived myself for several months, I can absolutely say that he had most of the characteristics. Namely, the amount of time it took for him to respond, and his half-comprehensible answers, his demeanor, and the look in his eyes.
I wonder what he was up last night doing -- it certainly wasn't practicing for the debate.
I have agree that Bush wins hands down if you read the transcript. But form a presentation standpoint, I was squirming in my chair watching him. It was frustrating. A very disappointing performance from Bush. Thank God he's got substance on his side.
What we can't imagine is what problems the President of the US takes to bed with him every night.
Kerry went to bed with the everyday problems of a Senator, a person who manages zero people, the consequence of his decisions barely discernible, and the affluence of a man who's main residence is really in France.
Bush went to bed with the constant responsibilities of a wartime President. Captains of ships also walk around pretty much sleep starved as well. On an average night they get a call or maybe two depending on the situation.
