...Kerry also misspoke when he referred to looking at KGB records in "Treblinka Square" in a visit to Russia. Treblinka was a Nazi death camp. He meant Lubyanka Square...
Just for the record, here are some facts on the Treblinka death camp.
It was established northeast of Warsaw, Poland in 1942, after Operation Barbarrossa had given the Nazis a Ukranian Plain full of 9 million Jews. It was after this acquisition that the decision to exterminate the race was sealed. Treblinka consumed the first shipments of people from the infamous Warsaw Ghetto.
The camp, along with Chelmno, Sobibor and Belzec, also in east Poland, was shut down after a pyrrhic revolt in 1943 as the Nazis consolidated their extermination and concentration efforts at the three-headed Auschwitz complex (near Krakow). It is estimated that over a million innocent people were gassed and burned in Treblinka's single year of operation.
Just so we don't tag it as a politician's gaffe and forget it from there.
WEll, we KNOW that twit Kerry is ignorant.....
He doesn't need a reminder of how he lost Wisconsin. This from a guy who called Lambeau Field, Lambert Field! (laughing)
Is anyone keeping a list? There were a lot of little slips.

Well he already lost the polish vote when he ignored them as part of the coalition of the willing. So why not remind them of a Polish death camp for good measure.
Kerry's flubs last night were vast and wide. He faked his way through this debate by lying.
The NYC Subway was never shut down during the RNC.
If Iraq had no WMD, what nuclear secrets did we need to safeguard by guarding "only the oil ministry?"
Kerry did say that Bush was a liar.
His lies will catch up to him. This is not a little Senatorial debate. There are 1,000s of pundits who will debunk these Kerry lies and misstatements.
if only Bush had spoken up and corrected Kerry.
Lubyanka was actually the jail inside the KGB building which was in Dzerzhinsky Square in Moscow. All very, very bad scene. Lubyanka was the basement where the condemned from the purge trials were exected. More than this you don't need to know.
Kerry said some other weird things. One that struck me as odd was when he said that during the cold war Presidents had the option of a preemptive war. As I remember during the cold war the left argued that Republicans from Goldwater to Reagan would end the world by trying to destroy the USSR with a preemptive strike. In fact the Republican position and the official policy of all Presidents during the cold war was deterrence through Mutual Assured Destruction. Preemption was never ever an openly stated policy because it would have freaked out the Soviets.
Don't get me started on that soundbyte where he praised Reagan.
We all know what was really going on with Kerry in the Senate when Reagan was in office -- he was opposing and obstructing every defense program that Reagan proposed. He only wishes he could be like Ronnie.

He did say some odd stuff, once I believe he had one of those freudian slips as he was talking about Iraq.
He started out by saying, "I would cut" but then quickly
continued with some other phrase that would intimate continued support.
Can't remember the exact exchange now.
AmericanInTokyo caught that on the Live Thread

Who can sift through well over 2,500 posts! So someone may have already said it, but Kerry did make one flub that I did not see anyone on the internet catching yet:
KERRY WENT TO THE OLD KGB BUILDING IN MOSCOW (with Senator Bob Smith). That area is called "Lubyanka Square" NOT "TREBLINKA SQUARE."
Lurch just placed a notorious Nazi concentration camp in Poland right into Soviet Russia!!

If I recall .. didn't Kerry call Reagan's presidency an era of evil cloud .. or something to that effect??
Treblinka-Lubyanka
Michigan Buckeyes-Wolverines
Lambert Field-Lambeau Field
They all sound alike....
Had W confused the Nazi deathcamp with KGB HQ, the gaffe would be the only thing on the press for the next 48 hours.
The bigger question was the clown ever even there?, Someone get to work on that.
