I share your frustration that the President didn't mop the floor with Kerry, but he did what he had to do, and that's enough.

The problem I have is that I'm not that smart, but I had five different comebacks to Kerry's accusations that would have made the Senator look like a fool.

I'm amazed that Bush never said that the entire world thought Hussein had WMDs. Hell, Bill Clinton and Kerry himself thought he had WMDs. That would have frozen Kerry's bullshit.

The most important thing that came out of tonights debate is Kerrys' "global test" for America defending itself. It makes him a loser. Foregt the deabting point sh6T.

That notion along with his promise no to establish forward operating bases in Iraq, which would cost American lives should we have to go to war with Iran or Syria, and his promise to unilaterally end the tactical nuke bunker buster program will show him for exactly what he is, a man who would make Aemrica less secure.

It ain't the economy dude, its security and Kerry left himself wide open.

It will take a few days to filter out but filter out it will.

Tommy Franks just said "Senator Kerry, who reads the same intelligence we do, said that Osama bin Laden was in Afghanistan; I don't think there's a single person in the Intelligence community that would agree with that."

Agreed. I will say this though: somewhere (maybe Dales' site?) I read something about the effect of debates on elections, and the facts seem to show that they have very little lasting effect.

The exception was 1980, when the sole debate was held one week before the election.

Our Rocky needs a Paulie (ZELL MILLER) to coach him for the next debate.

Hey, there are at least one hundred FReepers who could have handled Kerry better.

Bush should have called in John O'neil...He mopped Kerry up! But, then of course Bush would be linked to the Swifties.

Me either. :)

I hear ya. But...

I think the President helped himself by staying on message. He wasn't trying to score points on Kerry, he was connecting with voters.

He didn't need to keep a Broken Glass Republican like me happy; he needed to connect with The Great Unwashed, and I believe he did that well.
