even though Bush is right on the substance, Kerry stil comes across as far more confident and "persuasive" right now than Bush.

Bush seems a bit intimidated. Bush still has time, but if he doesn't turn this around, then Kerry's going to benefit quite a bit from this debate.

Bush is trying to remember points covered in debate prep instead of sitting back and talking as he does on the campaign trail.

Bush is not smooth, is too defensive, and is allowing major openings to pass.

This is not going well for Bush, I'm afraid.

Perhaps. Tonight. The best thing that the President has going is that everything he's saying is straight from the heart. I hope folks can see that.

Telling our troops they were misled not voting to back them

no hes not intimidated hes pissed and rightly so so should this whole country should be and directly at KERRY and his minion of liberal apeasers !

Bush doesn't intimidate, especially not by this fortune-hunting jerk. Bush has made a successful career of people misunderestimating him -- just as Reagan did.
