Wayne Gilchrest is our representative on Maryland's conservative eastern shore. He is way to the left of his party and his constituents. Gilchrest is our rep due to conservative ineptitude in, first, having 15 conservatives running against Gilchrest in the 1990 GOP primary, thus splitting the vote and, second, not coalescing around a plausible conservative to oust him in a primary ever since. Gilchrest is pro-death on abortion, supports many gun control laws, supported the 1990 Bush tax increase and was the only Republican to support DC statehood.

For these and other reasons, I will not be voting for Gilchrest again. I didn't vote for him in 2002. And I will never vote for him.

I also contributed to Dave Fischer in the 2002 primary. We missed a good opportunity back then.

Among other things, Gilchrest is an environmentalist whacko.

While most Americans do not support gay marriage, the Constitution should not be amended in an attempt to block them. The Federal government has NO jurisdiction over who marries and who doesn't and shouldn't be given a foot in the door.

Bear in mind, those that break current laws on marriage will not be held in check by an Amendment. It is a state issue and we should be taking care of it at home, not looking to the feds to bail us out.
