Well there goes a tool I have carried since the 80's.
Guess I will have to go with a Gerber with the primer cord cutter.
Anybody know where their politics stand?

They sell those damn things by the pallet load at Costco. Come to think of it isn't the Costco CEO Sinegal a Dem too?

"Health care is the hardest decision I have to make each year as a business owner," said Paul Fish, president of Mountain Gear in Spokane, WA. "I want to provide my employees and their families with quality care but the cost of doing so weakens the very business we are trying to build together."
I agree with the facts your appraisal of Edwards and and the toll of trial lawyers. I would like to point out to Mr.Fish that the President proposed a plan that would allow small businesses to band together in order to buy affordable insurance for their workers.

The leatherman line of tools are assembled in the USA from components made in the Far East. California just ruled that Leatherman was not produced in the USA as advertised. Leatherman for years went after any and all copycats for patent infringement.

I have a Leatherman and a Gerber. Both are good.
Now, we need to keep track of the names of all of these companies to add them to the Boycott list. Fools!

I normally don't care who a company president or ceo supports but the Dems have had nothing but extremely extraordinarily radical leftists since before Jimmy Carter.
They are to the left of Stalin.

What idiots.
Don't take a stand and miff maybe 10% of your customers. Do something like this and completely piss off half or more of them if they hear about it.
Real good business sense...dumbasses!

My Letters to Petzl, and Black Diamond
To:
info@petzl.com Please direct to Roody Rasmussen
Dear Mr. Rasmussen
I just read that Petzl America CEO Roody Rasmussen submitted a letter supporting John Kerry as President.
Roody should have kept his ideals to himself seperated from his company.
I will no longer be buying Petzl products for rock Climbing, and as I am an Instructor will also be leading all others within my circle of influence away from Petzl gear.
I was very dissapointed to read the letter.
kerry/edwards continue to support partisan environmental groups who want to take away our ability to enjoy recreation.
One only needs to look at the Angeles National Forest in California, and The Cleveland National Forest, which due to enivironmental groups have now closed major sections to outdoor recreation use due to alleged Fire Danger. This is just one example of democratic groups ruining our ability to use recreation.
They will not be happy untill all forests and parks are closed to all, and no one can use them.
By supporting this, you are agreeing to the end of recreation in The United States of America, and the probable end of your business interests in our country as well.
Please reconsider your postion, and I look forward to a response.

bdmo@bdel.com Please direct to Peter Metcalf, CEO
Dear Mr. Metcalf,
I just read that Black Diamond CEO Peter Metcalf, submitted a letter supporting John Kerry as President.
Roody should have kept his ideals to himself seperated from his company.
I will no longer be buying Black Diamond products for rock Climbing, and as I am an Instructor will also be leading all others within my circle of influence away from Petzl Gear, to include fellow Instructors, as well as all future climbers. I have a choice who gets my business, and you no longer have mine.
I was very dissapointed to read the letter.

Well, I'm the kind of person who likes to stay inside and smoke cigarettes all day, so this is a little out of my ken. Even so, some of these Companies are familiar leftists to me, (do they really want an abortionist in every old growth tree? no doubt!), but hubby really likes his Leatherman (he uses it while we're inside smoking), but I'd be curious to know how small a minority of outdoors types this handful represents.
Are they just the windsurfing contingent?

Thank you Leatherman for making the choice for me.
This Gerber looks much better than this anemic socialist tool.
