Obvious, but fair question: did John F. Kerry receive special treatment in order to secure his 30-years-after-the-fact honorable discharge?

I would assume that the White House is aware of this. I would hope so and that the press, such as it is, will give this as much attention as they did Bush's NG service. That's a laugh. They'll bury it on page 69.

It certainly fits with why he won't release his records.

Please check your facts. It's very possible that he didn't actually end his time in the IRR (inactive reserves) until 2001. You don't actually get the honorable discharge until you're done with the IRR component of your service.

My guess is that he was Discharged in the '70s, but not Honorably. He appealed this sometime while Clinton was doing trouser-tricks in the Oval Office. And let's not get into Clintoon's "discharge," thankyouverymuch.

I dunno about this. I would rather the focus on Kerry be his Senate career but the speculation will continue until he signs the 180. I wish he would do this and apologize for his statements in front of the Senate circa 1971. Then we can talk about 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008. The future is what matters most to me. But it is in his court to make this election about the future of America, not his or Bush's past military service in the past.

He's a Democrat, Bill Clinton was Commander in Chief and he kneels at the alter of Ted Kennedy, Kerry's buddy; plus Clinton passed out pardons and other stuff like candy at the end...
What bothers me most is even Fox isn't pounding on this one. Judicial Watch is trying to get this seriously looked at, but we're only a month out from the election and time is running very short.... if he were to be elected these records will NEVER see the light of day.
To: TomVan
. Do you have a copy of this "Honorable Discharge" from 2001? I've seen the one from February 16, 1978 and it says Honorable.
Check out the John F. Kerry Timeline. Email it to your friends.

...did John F. Kerry receive special treatment...He would have had to. I was both active and reserve, as was Kerry, and served about the same time as Kerry. I was honorably discharged in the 70's. Kerry's service record irregularities may be only a red herring, but it is sure beginning to stink like fish around the subject.

This would explain why the keep pounding on Bushs record trying desperately to smear him. To offset this revelation. It explains it perfectly. It makes no sense otherwise. There is no poll data that suggest that they benefit by attacking Bushs record.

from
link 1971 Interview with John Kerry on His Medals & War Protests and his book "The New Soldier".
A November 6, 1971 interview with John Kerry on protesting the war in Vietnam. The interview took place on the television program "Viewpoints" on WRC-TV in Washington, DC. WASHINGTON, DC: 10 min.
At 2:55 - 3:00 into the interview...
Interviewer: Was there ever any question of you getting dishonourably discharged?
Kerry: Oh no, no, that has never been questioned.
To: christie
maybe Clinton gave it him before he left office, after going through the gov. red tape was final in 2001.

If the two candidates party attachment were reversed, George Bush would be in Levenworth prison for treason before Nov. 2. but because Kerry is a MSM LIB DARLING all this true military records release outrage is poo-pooed and neglected by the press. This is absolutly unacceptable.
