California FReepers, I need your help.
Yesterday on the Larry Elder show, a caller reported seeing a license plate in Santa Monica on a Volvo. It said "F Dubya". Then, the purported owner of the vehicle, a jerk named Phil, called in to the show. He was really proud.
After a few minutes, Larry handed Phil his lunch. He claimed to be well-read but Larry showed him to be a hate-filled Santa Monica liberal fool.
Let's do more than hand him his lunch. I spoke to the DMV, and if they get more than one letter, they will look into taking back a plate that citizens find offensive. The woman with whom I spoke, understood how the plate could be offensive. An "F Kerry" plate would not, because Kerry is a real last name. No one has the name Dubya; the only reference anywhere is that it is the nickname of our commander in chief.
On the show, Phil said that he couldn't believe they allowed him to have the plate.
(Californians only) Send letter to:
DMV Registration
Attn: Headquarters
P.O. Box 942869
Sacramento, CA 94269
Note - I would particularly like to see Santa Monica postmarks on letters. Raise your hand if you are going to send a letter.

Please don't join the ranks of the crybabies. If, however, you want to help stick it to a Santa Monica liberal, then join the effort.

I'm with you. And I work near Santa Monica so the postmark will be there also.

Nothing against Euro cars. We have several (if you include British). You are the exception that proves the rule. Most Volvos seem to be driven by pointy-headed types. I think this started when Donald Sutherland was doing voice-overs for Volvo commercials. The ads were quite smarmy and condescending. Where I live most Volvo owners seem to be professors or lawyers.

I have a plate that reads "JohnEffingKerryIsAGunGrabbingPieceOfVermin FecesAndIHopeWeNotOnlyMakeSureHeIsNeverPresidentButAlsoIdLike ToSeeHimRetiredFromTheUSSenateBecauseHisLiberalPoliciesMakeMe WannaPuke"
I sure hope they don't make me retire that plate.
You should see how small the letters are on it.

The first time this dude speeds in conservative Orange County and tries to talk his way out of a ticket about to be written by a conservative cop, he may wish he'd gone with something different.

Hmm... One can only wonder whether the DMV would have allowed "F KERRY" under the same circumstances. (They surely would have vetoed it.)
Frankly, I say let him keep the plate. It's not all bad knowing who among us are the truly flaming a-holes.

We could have a lot of fun at the owners expense. A radio station could give a prize for the most embarrassing place the owner car has showed up at. Photoshops allowed.
Owner thought he was smart. Freepers are smarter.

F Kerry could be a real name. There is only one meaning to this plate. It is not a name.

F Kerry could be a real name. That doesn't mean DMV wouldn't veto it (especially when it's not the applicant's name).

Ironic, isn't it? This was obviously cleared as 'ok' by the DMV, but prolife or choose life plates are among the routinely rejected themes. Speaks volumes.

I could see a partisan spilling a gallon of paint on the Volvo.
Let him "keep" the plate and constantly worry when his Volvo will have a new look to it.

I certainly do not want to see anything happen to his car. Our side doesn't do that. Their side does that kind of stuff.
