LE MARS, Iowa (AP) - About 500 absentee ballots in Plymouth County need to be replaced after a printing error left a congressional race off the ballot.
The 5th District congressional race between incumbent Steve King, R-Kiron, and Democratic challenger Joyce Schulte, of Creston, was left off the ballot, county officials said.
"We're working on it and have notified the printer," Auditor K. Kae Meyer said.
Voters receiving incorrect ballots should mail them back to the auditor's office with the word "spoiled" written on the envelope, Meyer said.
Correct ballots will be mailed to those voters.
The incorrect ballots were mailed to voters in Le Mars and the western part of Plymouth County, Meyer said.
You know I am glad they are finding the glitches. Yet, I wonder what the heck were these folks doing the last 4 years.
Just odd that we have S.N.A.F.U.S. this late in the game.
This is one of our favorite congressmen.
