Sept. 11 Widow Joins Campaign
Washington Post ^ | 9/29/04 | Matthew Mosk

PITTSBURGH, Sept. 28 -- Before Sept. 11, 2001, all Kristen Breitweiser wanted in the way of worldly responsibility was to tend to her garden and care for her infant daughter, Caroline.

"After watching my husband get murdered on live worldwide television," she said, everything changed.

On Tuesday, the 33-year-old New Jersey widow was stumping in swing states with Democratic vice presidential candidate John Edwards for the second day in a row.

[snip]

She fought back a fear of flying born out of the World Trade Center disaster and overcame her jitters about public speaking to become a blunt instrument of attack against a president she once supported.

"I would love to have heard President Bush and the Republicans in Congress say, 'Here's what we'll do better.' But they didn't do that. They circled the wagons, they stonewalled, they blocked, they foot-dragged," she said in an interview aboard the Edwards campaign plane.

[snip]

Joining the partisan fray was not part of any original plan by Breitweiser or others in the core group of victims' relatives that became outspoken advocates for action in Washington over the course of three years. They saw value, in fact, in remaining politically neutral, Breitweiser said.

[snip]

I want to know that she's going to be safer. That when she grows up, she's not going to die because of payback for a bad foreign policy."

...and overcame her jitters about public speaking..

Must be something new as she didn't have a problem with public speaking while attending the commission meetings.

"I would love to have heard President Bush and the Republicans in Congress say, 'Here's what we'll do better.'

So she's stumping for Kerry who says he will do everything better, but hasn't told anyone what or how.

Apparently, just hearing someone say they will do it better is ok for this woman who claims she was once a Bush supporter.

That when she grows up, she's not going to die because of payback for a bad foreign policy."

Now we get to the truth. It's not the lack of action of the Bush administration which has caused her to back Kerry, but Kerry's plan for a change in foreign policy.

Which is appeasement, which is what caused 9/11 and this woman's loss.

Breitweiser does her husband's memory NO HONOR by acting as she is.

Ten years from now she'll most likely know she was a tool of the Democrats. How sad.

Oh, big surprise.

She has been an unofficial Kerry campaigner for over a year.

Funny how they never find Sept. 11 widows who support President Bush. Just the one's that suit the Washington Pravda's agenda.

New Jersey is in a dead heat right now and obviously does not agree with Breitsweiser's choice to fight the war on terror. The fact that Edwards even needed to campaign in New Jersey yesterday (a state Gore won by 20 points in 2000) speaks volumes. You know things are bad for them when they're trying to hold on to New Jersey.

I cannot believe that this woman would defile her husband's memory by appeasing the militant islamic terrorist movement that killed him and seeks to kill everyone else who does not submit to their perverted religious views.

Kristen Breitweiser. Kristen Breitweiser. Kristen Breitweiser. I've seen her name, and the names of the other so called Jersey Girls (what an insult to a noble dairy cow!) in print and on TV more than all the other victim's spouses combined.

A tragedy does not make any of them policy experts. It only gets them face time from the lamestream media. Anyone who contributed to a 9-11 relief fund should demand that the Jersey Girls return their share of people's generosity and run the political campaign on their own dime.

Wasn't it the Dims. that were worried about the GOP "politicizing" 9/11?

This woman's poor daughter already lost her dad. Now her mom is off campaigning for Kedwards (and seeking attention for herself, because, dontcha know, it's all about her) with all of her free time (subsidized by us, of course) instead of being a parent.

And if she voted for Bush in 2000, I'm a 110 lb supermodel. I know plenty of women whose husbands weren't murdered on 9/11 who would never vote for Kerry because of 9/11, but this woman is doing the opposite. I'm not buying the 2000 vote.

She's siding with the side that didn't do anything during the "8 great years" of The Bent One, and if Kerry gets into the White House, Kerry will be sure this nation will go back into it's pre-9/11 slumber while utilizing the Clinton Doctrine.

I don't buy it either. The fact of the matter is, the Democrats have no feather in their cap in regards to stamping out terror beyond mere words, peace negotiation s and outright appeasement. The way the left has gone about fighting terrorism, only made it worse, starting with Carter in 1979.

she's not going to die because of payback for a bad foreign policy.

This woman has a monumental misunderstanding of the enemy. She is living in a world we'd all like to have but it is not the real world. The murdering fanatics behind September 11, 2001, slaughtered innocents because they hate everything about America. You cannot negotiate or change foreign policy enough to please suicidal barbarians.

She's wrong and she does not understand history. She also does not understand the relentless, murderous evil in the world.

Her way gets MORE people killed, not fewer.

Evil would devour the earth if unrealistic appeasers were in charge.

It damn near did before the U.S. entered World War II.

That war proved the only thing that impresses wicked forces is enough killing of them they are threatened with extinction. Barbarians have to be so violently fought they recognize they will be exterminated if they don't stop.

That is where peace originates...strength.

She can certainly afford to do just that she isnt poor any more , she collected plenty for the loss of her husband, more tham most widows ever collect in auto-accident claims.
Also it would seem she is much more qualified to tend her garden and care for her child than she is to pick a Presidential candidate.

Nope she is in love with fame.

I sympathized with her and all of the victims who lost family and dear friends, but sympathy evaporates quickly when somebody tries to cash in on it.

My guess is she's going to run for something in two years. I don't think she'll win, but if she does, she'll the Rats' third successful coffin jockey.

Someone should inform this poor uninformed soul that if Senator sKerry had paid attention to a hand delivered letter he was given warning him of the lack of security at his Boston airport...maybe if he had done his job (you know the one where he is Senator?), the 2 planes that flew into the WTC may not have happened. Instead sKerry passed the buck...He should have testified to the 911 commission, but never did, and I will never understand why not.
