The link clearly says that the ad was printed in a gay newspaper, and was not intended for general mainstream consumer consumption.
What is such a big deal about that?
Tauiloring ads for particular markets is not unusual in advertising. While I personally don't find the ad appealing, or even creative, it's clearly intended for the market that reads the gay themed newspaper, and also intended to be a bit whimsical for them.
If it featured a man and a woman in bed in an ad in Playboy Magazine, I still wouldn't find it appealing or creative, but I wouldn't find it particularly offensive.
What is the big deal?
I don't see this as 'promoting gay sex' as this ad was in a gay magazine in the first place.
I will continue to buy my Crest toothpaste..

Why is Wildmon looking though gay magazines in order to find things that will offend him. What exactly does he expect to find? If P&G wants to advertise to a target audience with specific graphics which address that particular group I see nothing wrong with it. This does not warrant a boycott in my opinion.

This is just a silly exericse. It has nothing to do with anything. Anyone who runs with stuff like this does conservatives a disservice.
Except Wildmon is promoting the boycott on the basis of the ad and not on the basis of them promoting gay marriage. Furthermore, Proctor & Gamble came under fire for promoting the repeal of some anti gay laws in Cincinati, which by the way was also supported by the Catholic Arch Bishop. Proctor & Gamble has taken no stand on Gay marriage. I am not defending anything P&G did either way, but I think boycots like this in which the message is fuzzy and the ads in question taken out of context, only hurt the cause.
(1) Boycott three products of P&G Crest toothpaste, Tide detergent, and Pampers diapers. (Make sure your replacement is not a P&G product. Look on the back of the product.)
The ad was for Downy.
I have replaced Tide, Downey and Cascade with P&C's competitors brands with one problem............I bought Cheer and found that IT is a P&C product......(won't make that mistake again).........I feel so dirty. *~*

Wildmon and his cohort are Grade A kooks.
I've no problem what so ever with P&G selling to an affluent market segment who need their products.
I'd only question P&G's judgement if they were to place an ad for Pampers in the Advocate.
