On September 23, 2004 The Marze Por Gohar Party, at an event that took place at Beverly Hills Hilton, presented the Sheikh of Qatar a letter of protest. The Chairman, Roozbeh Farahanipour, Director of Foreign Policy, Babak Namdar, Persian Gulf Specialist, Sepehr Aryannia and Oz Asemani personally delivered to Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani of Qatar, a letter of protest. The two primary points raised in the letter were firstly regarding Qatars history of decisions that have inflicted damage on Iranians instead of the Islamic Republic, and secondly that if Qatar wants friendly relations with the Iranian people they should focus their energy on their enemy, the Islamic Republic.
Unfortunately, as soon as the Sheikh of Qatar began his speech, he used a fictitious name to refer to the always and forever Persian Gulf. This act of Khalifa Al Thani caused fury and anger among the members of the Marze Por Gohar Party because the Sheikh had disrespected both the history of the Persian Gulf and Iranians as a whole. As a result, Roozbeh Farahanipour, and Oz Asemani walked out in protest.
During the question & answer section, Babak Namdar, in response to the improper usage of words used to refer to the Persian Gulf, asked the Sheikh considering the historical background of the Persian Gulf, and considering that the UN, along with practically every country call it the Persian Gulf, why do you insist on calling it anything but the Persian Gulf?
The Amir was unable to give a satisfactory answer, opting instead to simply state that we [Iranians] can call it the Persian Gulf, and they [Qatar] can call it something else (fortunately, he refrained from using the unrecognized name for the Persian Gulf again). Bin Khalifa then went on to describe how Khomeini once advocated that the Persian Gulf be renamed the Islamic Gulf. Furthermore, he said perhaps one day the Persian Gulf will be called the Sunni Gulf, or Shia Gulf.
It was far from surprising to hear the Amir quote Khomeini, after all the Islamic Republic is Anti-Iranian and has always voiced its support for the Arabian culture. One has to only look at the current flag of our occupied country, which has Arabic scriptures throughout the flag, to get a clear understanding of how the Islamic Republic is attempting to Arabize Iran. Further evidence of the regimes clear hatred of Iranian culture can be seen by the theocracys request that it be given observer status at the Arab League.
However, the enemy should know that so long as one Iranian is alive, the enemy will not be able to sleep one easy night. The enemy should know that we will be victorious in our struggle to establish a secular republic that will be governed by Iranians for the interest of Iranians. Would the Amirs in the Persian Gulf, following the Amir's advice today, allow us to call Qatar any other name that we please?
It is in the interest of both Iran and Qatar to have friendly relations, and hence we hope Qatar understands the sensitivity regarding the Persian Gulf, and ceases to use unrecognized names for the always and forever, Persian Gulf.
An event at the Beverly Hills Hilton? If everybody hates the US so much, why are they always having their 'events' here. Why not have them someplace else like Liberia or Rowanda?
How about the Gulf of New Texas.
There is a very simple reason for this location: Beverly Hills has a large Iranian population, which its wealth makes influential.
