KENNEBUNKPORT - There was no shortage of political support for President George W. Bush on Thursday morning, as about two dozen Veterans for Bush gathered at Walker's Point to weigh in on why Bush should be reelected.

The event was organized by Lt. Col. (Retired) Hib Theriault, chairman of Veterans for Bush in York County and a former helicopter pilot in Viatnam.

"I asked for this, and here we are," Theriault said of the visit to Walker's Point. "I did this for my 12 grandchildren. [This election] is all about leadership, leadership, leadership."

The group was hosted by former President George H.W. Bush and Barbara Bush, the former first lady, who each posed for pictures with the group, as a large "Veterans For Bush" banner was visible in front of the crowd. The former president also posed for individual shots with each of the veterans, and autographed a boxed medallion that each veteran received as a memento.
