Pipkin Receives Key Endorsement
Pipkin For Senate (Official Web Site) ^ | Sept 8, 2004 | Carrie Gentile

STEVENSVILLE, MD – Maryland U.S. Senate candidate E.J. Pipkin has received the endorsement of the National Rifle Association. “While my opponent has consistently voted to prevent law-abiding citizens from lawfully possessing firearms, she has sought fit to support legislation which infringes on the constitutional rights set by our forefathers-rights I intend to uphold,” says Pipkin. “It is time Maryland had a U.S. Senator who stands up for the rights of law-abiding citizens and supports legislation to put those criminals who commit crimes with a gun behind bars.” In 1994, Senator Barbara Mikulski voted against mandatory sentences for criminals in possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime or a drug felony (Roll Call Vote #118). In 1999, she voted against increasing the mandatory minimum and maximum sentences for the illegal transfer or use of a firearm (Roll Call Vote #118). Both bills were widely supported by second amendment rights supporters. In announcing its endorsement of Pipkin, John Frazer of the NRA comments: “You have demonstrated your commitment to the defense of our Second Amendment rights, and you have indicated a willingness to continue this fight during your campaign for the U.S. Senate. Thank you for your hard work on behalf of the Free State’s gun owners and sportsmen.” E.J. co-sponsored a bill in the Maryland Senate in 2003 known as “Project Exile,” a bill that prevents judges from decreasing mandatory minimum sentences imposed for crimes involving firearms. “I am honored to receive the endorsement of responsible gun rights groups. By receiving the endorsement, we continue to build momentum for our campaign for effective leadership,” says Pipkin. “I look forward to preserving and protecting the Second Amendment rights of our law-abiding citizens and putting criminals behind bars. As the United States Senator from Maryland, I intend to do just that,” Pipkin concluded.

For all you MD Freepers, myself included, here's some information on E.J.Pipkin

While it will be difficult for Pipkin to beat out the powerful Barbara Mikulski, I wish him all the best of luck.

BTW, I'm looking at volunteering for Pipkin's election campaign. One of the ways to help was "volunteer on election day." Does anyone know what all is involved? If so, please send me a reply, preferrably private.

That's a great endorsement for a pubbie. But he is running against Babs Mikulsky. Tough row.

If Erlich and Steele start bombing her, it could be done...maybe.

Well, Ehrlich's been fighting to see more Republican politicians in MD, as he should be. Hopefully, his desire for this will help Pipkin win.

Mikulski uses the "Glendening Effect" to win.
The only way to stop her is to chain the cemetery gates on election night.

[LeRoy Myers for governor!]

This will help the Pipkin campaign outside the Baltimore area and the D.C. suburbs (Montgomery, Howard & Prince George Counties). Unfortunately, not many voters live there.
