Money quote: "Keyes will lose in a landslide, but his candidacy will make over the Republican Party in Illinois," Thomas Roeser, a GOP analyst, said in an interview. "Keyes is serving as a purgative, driving the moderates out of the party and catching Republicans in Illinois up to the conservative revolution started by Ronald Reagan that passed over Illinois."

Hope that analysis about the "make over" is true.

Post #1 is a bunch of gobbledygook. Lets face it Keyes shot his mouth off the first day on the campaign trail and lost the race all by himself. George Ryan can take the blame for the Republican party in Illinois.

Yeah you'll drive out the "moderates" and then Illinois will look at lot like California...a small party of purist Republicans who can win no election on their own and then grouse like mad when the Dems roll over them all the time....

Obama is the darling of the press. No one would do well against him unless he does something really nutty.

He would become the first black male Democrat elected to the SenateWhich means, until Nov. 2nd, only black male republicans have been elected to the Senate.

Obama is pro-life. That means he may have already triggered an ideological quake in Illinois RATS - eh? Bill Clinton, Algore, and a host of other top democrats were pro-life at the beginning to middle of their policital careers. But once the brass ring of democratic leadership power was seen, they had to ditch it for a pro choice stance to advance their careers.

Couldn't have said it better myself. And for those who are hip-hooraying this, us people who live in this state would rather it not end up like California, thank you very much.

Keyes is a man yielded to God, and thus a conduit with unfathomed potential.

Keyes is a man yielded to God, and thus a conduit with unfathomed potential. Be that as it may, he still needs one vote more than his opponent in order to win election. And he ain't gonna do it here.

Did you make a typo or something?
He is about as far from it as possible.
