I was visiting someone in Wyoming in the early 90s, and it was -30F at night. That was the coldest I have ever been. You learn to pack food and stuff in case you go sliding off some road in the middle of no where.

Some of the coldest mornings I had to endure it got down to -50, although that was unusual. -30 wasn't all that unusual, though. I also had an agreement with a guy who owned a front end loaded so I could get my driveway cleaned out after a major snow storm.

Now I live in the San Francisco Bay Area, and only worry about liberals and earthquakes.
