I felt it up here in Sunnyvale - seemed like a 4.0. Paso Robles - is that close to where the previous one hit, by San Simeon?

Very fast reporting. They don't even have a magnitude for this one yet. Pretty close to my old home in CA. Glad I'm in MN. This is on the San Andreas, if it's in Parkfield as it seems to be.

Where he is and where the quake is are possibly two different things.

I'm in San Jose and felt it - a slight swaying.
I'm in my underwear - better get my pants on!
If you're in Fresno and felt it there also, must have been pretty strong someplace...

No contradication. Quakes are felt for hundreds of miles from the epicenter.Oh, that's right. Go and bring FACTS into it.

San Mateo county, 3rd floor of early 1990s office building, built on slab foundation on deep piers driven into former salt evaporater / dried out bay mud. Felt two rollers, enough to rattle windows but not enough to cause building to creak and groan. Was on con call w/ folks in Alameda County who said they did not detect it. Some newbies were freaking out and running into hallway. That's about it.

Where he is and where the quake is are possibly two different things.I deny this possibility.
If you are feeling the quake, it's where it is.
