Slippery eel that's feeding on economy

That's what all the anticipation was about?

The Government Accountability Office (what you and I remember as the General Accounting Office) last week issued a long-awaited report (which was supposed to be out last spring) on the nettlesome issue of offshoring/outsourcing.

If you missed the report, you didn't miss much.

The GAO report can be neatly summarized by this sentence from the report's abstract: "Government data provide limited information about the effects of services offshoring on U.S. employment levels and the U.S. economy." (GAO didn't look at goods production offshoring/outsourcing.)

The agency noted that "the reasons for the growth in offshoring are relatively well understood, but less is known about the policy consequences of this activity."

In conclusion: "GAO will continue to monitor the statistics and other dimensions of offshoring in order to provide Congress with information it needs in its policy deliberations."

You might have reached much the same conclusion by grabbing the nearest Magic 8-Ball, giving it a good shake and watching the window for this message: "Reply hazy, try again."

The last I checked, the Trade Deficit was $600 BILLION
And GWB has added over $1.5 TRILLION to the National Debt.
Foreign governments use the money obtained from our Trade Deficit to finance our National Debt, and currently own over half our debt obligations.
As an American taxpayer, that means that your tax dollars are spent paying interest to foreign governments BEFORE even one penny is spent to support our own government!

"Think what you do when you run into debt;
you give another power over your liberty."

No, he's at the wrong end of the puppet strings.

Rather than repost the entire article as a comment
the link is there as a reference and a courtesy to others.
If you don't like it, don't click on it.
Simple as that.

OK, let's imagine your dream comes true, Bush is out. Do you imagine the Dems will reverse the process? Or what would you suggest? Anything constructive would do.

Well Mi-khael, I don't think you meant to ping me. Its not my dream to have W ousted and I support him so I'm not sure what you meant by your post.

No. But just like the last time, I expect that the GOP would madly scramble to come up with a new Contract with America instead of crapping on us like they're now doing.

Sorry. Of course it was meant for WG. I again apologise. I just goofed. :-) WG replied. However, in a very roundabout way, as usual. I've been watching him from the sidelines for a while and have yet to get his drift.
