Our employers will be required to ask for our papers and we will be forced to present them. Or else.

LOL!
Have you filled out a job application lately? Yes, even prior to 911.

The "or else" is pretty much automatic!

See ya!

Yes, I know that. I'm objecting to the idea of expanding the idea to a national ID system as others have proposed on this thread.

As I stated previously - like it or not, the SS# has become a means whereby one is identified in almost every facet of American life. I understand the opposition based on Amendment #4, but it's far too late for that argument's relevancy since we're beyond the conception point of an ID system.

Why not introduce additional measures against fraud to an outdated documentation system so neither government, employees, nor employers have continued excuses to circumvent the law? - unless, of course, you happen to be one of those who benefit from fraud...

Then, why not link those SS# to state issued DL's and voter registrations? Significantly reducing fraud has to be a top priority SOON and enhancing the systems we already have seems a much viable option than inventing another overseeing bureaucracy - unless you're one of the corrupt government officials or citizens who benefit from deceit.

I'm convinced more than 15-20% of current taxpayer-funded government expenditures are gotten through fraud or deceit.

Militarization of our borders won't help because those citizens, illegals, and government officials who benefit from felonious activity simply don't want it to.
