If I subject the duty of my care upon the state, then, IMO, it is not an unreasonable request of those people who provide finances for that state in the form of taxes that I be clearly identified as eligible to receive those services.

Whether we like it or not, whether intentional or not, the SSI card already has become a form of ID. Why should we continue allowing such an important document to be counterfeited with such ease? We can easily close that gap with an estimated $10/card.
