Thank you for your honest answer.

I don't think we should be seizing assets, but what is wrong with a punitive fine? What other way can you convince employers not to hire illegals?

having a war against Mexico or against the Mexican people, etc

I'd be happy to see a civil war in Mexico led by people who want to overthrow that damn corrupt government.

I'd have to be a HUGE fine -- not a slap on the wrist.

But in the meantime we STILL have a problem that NO law enforcement authority wants to address, and Dubya's NOT helping solve the problem.

Punitive fines are the same as seizing assets. Money is an asset. I'm not in favor of tasking our employers with enforcing immigration laws. Business is already overregulated and overburdened as it is.
