First Print Story on the Outing of Congressman David Dreier on the Internet

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- San Gabriel Valley Congressman David Dreier is the latest GOP member to be outed as a homosexual Republican by Mike Rogers, former development director for the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, and his blogactive.com Web site. Doug Ireland, longtime radical political journalist, media critic and self-described purveyor of "investigative opinion," defends the outing and assesses Dreier's political future in this first discussion of the outing in the print media. Already Ireland's story has caused a stir. Several radio stations have called Ireland for comment and many are debating whether Ireland should have kept the story on the Internet. "I have not the slightest doubt that the outing campaign initiated by Mike Rogers' blogactive.com and supported by Raw Story's reporting is accurate in exposing Dreier," Ireland insists. "Moreover, in the course of reporting this story, I talked to a gay member of Congress who has observed Dreier in gay behavior and is 100% sure, as this member told me, that Dreier is gay. And, clearly, Dreier's demagogic political homophobia justifies reporting the outing campaign targeting him."

So you'll be cool with it when dad goes to marry his adult son and they share the mom? Wow, that's a society I look forward to living in. Who needs to slouch towards Gomorrah when you can just run headlong?

Traditional American values are being undermined everyday by the liberal establishment and their moderate-centrist enablers who happen to be members of the GOP. One day the GOP might find itself without conservative support and when that day comes, a Conservative Party will rise up out of the ashes of the party of Lincoln and Reagan, and become a force in American politics.

My grandmother use to say that if you had to go around telling people what a good person you were, you probably weren't.

It isn't the beliefs that trouble me, it's the unloving tone in which they are stated. A fault I also have.

I share that fault as well. I try to remember that Jesus took the moneychangers to task in His Father's house, but I know he did it in a loving way that I cannot hope to achieve...

But my overall point is that character is an issue because you cannot separate the private morality from the public

But he hasn't brought his private life into the public .. whether this is true or not .. he has kept it out and not made an issue of it ..

He isn't pushing his private life on you or I

As I have stated .. I don't agree with the gay life style .. I don't agree with gay marriage .. but I also don't agree that we should be sticking our noses in other peoples bedrooms

Reading is fundamental. You should at least give it the old college try.

And I don;t decide what is immoral. God does. And the Bible is pretty darned settled on this subject.

I know exactly what you mean.

It's what some people call the "ugly face" of conservatism.

Ah, I think he meant that being gay was corrupt.

I understood what he meant .. my point is that being gay is not against the law

That wouldn't be nice..."little" girls don't deserve that kind of abuse...people who put themselves out into a public forum, however...

Let me take it slower. Someone who is willing to do something immoral in their private life is usually willing to do the same in their public life. You do not get two sets of morality. So if a someone.does something immortal in private, it stands to reason that he will cut corners in public. The articles on Enron bear that out. Adultery and all other kinds of immorality were part of the culture, so it';s not shocking they cooked the books, too.

That said, we don't know that he is even gay. Who knows, maybe they got documents from Burkett?

Strawman? Nope... Dreier has a wonderful conservative record. And you folks are eagerly tearing him apart over the equivalent of fake memos...

just redeemed...

So you shouldn't be proud of YOURSELF for being redeemed, just humbly grateful to God the Father for accepting Christ's sacrifice to redeem us.
