First Print Story on the Outing of Congressman David Dreier on the Internet

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- San Gabriel Valley Congressman David Dreier is the latest GOP member to be outed as a homosexual Republican by Mike Rogers, former development director for the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, and his blogactive.com Web site. Doug Ireland, longtime radical political journalist, media critic and self-described purveyor of "investigative opinion," defends the outing and assesses Dreier's political future in this first discussion of the outing in the print media. Already Ireland's story has caused a stir. Several radio stations have called Ireland for comment and many are debating whether Ireland should have kept the story on the Internet. "I have not the slightest doubt that the outing campaign initiated by Mike Rogers' blogactive.com and supported by Raw Story's reporting is accurate in exposing Dreier," Ireland insists. "Moreover, in the course of reporting this story, I talked to a gay member of Congress who has observed Dreier in gay behavior and is 100% sure, as this member told me, that Dreier is gay. And, clearly, Dreier's demagogic political homophobia justifies reporting the outing campaign targeting him."

That won't convince anyone. If anyone was to believe acts of natural process were a judgement from God, the destruction of florida in the last month would be bandied as such. These people don't fear God, don't care about morality and thumb their noses at both. It will take conservatives rioting on a scale larger than the event at the 10 commandments monument and with more conviction. The american people are being run over and thrown out of their jobs right now and on top of everything else going on. It's gonna take a civil war for these people to get the point the way things are going. And they seem to be doing everything in washington to push us in that direction on both sides.

I wouldn't be surprised if women having the vote was one of them.

This may be the first thing you have said that I agree with...women are largely responsible for elcting Clinton to office...fortunately, there are many REAL Republican women in this country who have values.

How do you feel about the Electoral College?

I like it, but this thread is about the gay community outing a Republican. And I've explained the political hammer that Bush tucked away by going on record in support of a one man, one woman constitutional amendment.

I gather that you failed to understand our President's excellent strategy on the topic of gay marriage. Not surprised.

Yep....that's about xactly like I feel. Meanwhile the social engineering Left grabs freedom daily from new gun laws to just two days ago denying pro-life tags here in TN yet social modruts and lefties squeal that the Conservative Christian Talibanistas are trying to take away their rights.....how many exactly do you suppose they can claim we've taken?...

aside from the right for mommy to murder her baby at birth which is still being settled, I can't think of one.

>>>I just don't think I live a life pious enough to judge other people's personal lives.

Dittos. I really don't care with whom or how people get their jollies - it's a matter for those involved, and any deity they believe in, because that's who they'll have answer to for their actions come judegement day.

And you don;t think folks who are willing to accept corruption in their private life are not willing to import the same attitude to their public life?

I may not agree with the gay life style .. but I haven't heard of any corruption and breaking of laws regarding Drier

Was thinking more Brooks but Bill Counts too.

I was also thinking of Sandra Day O'Connor. My con law professor talked about the "Greenhouse effect" and the Court, in that the person who covers SCOTUS is Linda Greenhouse. The justices want to look good when she writes, and guess what makes them look really good.

That's a big "if"... I think such a solid conservative deserves a bit better from us than to be hung out to dry with nothing more but speculation and attempted smears by the left.

I think you're right. And why is it when we give our opinion, we're being "judgmental"? We're entitled to an opinion.

So you think there was no correlation between his attitude toward morality and the sanctity of vows in his private life and his behavior as a public official? And if you can;t judge the wrongness of adultery, you've got some serious issues.
