Indeed, something IS happening. I'm in New York City and I'm seeing Bush bumper stickers all over the place all of a sudden. Particularly one that says 'I stand with our President, George W. Bush'. I don't think I've ever seen this many bumper stickers for a republican candidate. Very few Kerry ones also.
Though I do appreciate the Kerry ones when we're looking to play a nice game of 'Cut off the commie sympathizer' or 'Try to make that left turn on my watch.' Both can be greatly entertaining. :D
One last thought tonight:
"I don't think I've ever seen this many bumper stickers for a republican candidate. Very few Kerry ones also."
I drove down to New Jersey last week, and spent the week there. Throughout New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey, I saw a grand total of: ONE Kerry sticker.
However, I saw plenty of cars with yellow ribbons with "Support Our Troops" on them.
Call me crazy, but I think that a huge percentage of people having "Support Our Troops" ribbons on their cars are going to vote for Bush--even if they might not want to advertise, in public, being a supporter of the Republican president.
As a caveat: I must add that I did spend my week in NJ a place where environmentally-friendly people will gather (long story, for another time and place). However, I saw Nader bumper stickers in the parking lot--not Kerry stickers.
Hmmm...other FReepers have shared similar reports from the supposedly Dem states of California, Connecticut, Oregon and now New York. Let's hope the momentum continues.
