Here in the Los Angeles area, in the local GOP district HQ where I volunteer, the excitement is huge. Literally hundreds of people were signing up for Bush-Cheney04 yard signs.

I'm seeing something of the same in the south SF bay area.

The Republican booth at our local end-of-summer weekend festival was busy all weekend. They were handing out forms for registration and absentee ballots. Lots of BC04 signs and bumper stickers were being handed out. I saw many people carrying them all over the place.

The democRAT booth on the other aisle was mostly dead all weekend. I saw very few people stop by, nowhere near the number at the Republican booth.

I've never seen anything like what's happening this year.

I honestly think that if GWB's campaign had the resources to campaign here, he might have won California. But who knows...with all the enthusiasm we're seeing, combined with Dem depression, maybe a miracle can happen.
