A 15-year old Palestinian was apprehended Tuesday on his way to executing a suicide bombing in Afula, Army sources disclosed Thursday evening.

Following intelligence received by the Shin Bet, the IDF and the police, three other Palestinians from the village Yamoun in the Jenin region were also apprehended for having planned the attack and assisting to transport the 7 KG suicide belt.

On Wednesday, security forces retrieved the 7-kilogram bomb in the village Dir Hana in the Galilee.

Details released by the Shin Bet last night revealed that on Tuesday, in a combined operation carried out by Israel Police and the Shin Bet, Za'al Mohammed Taher Abahra, 31, a resident of Yamoun near Dir Hanna in the Galilee was arrested . He told security officials that he had entered Israel with other family members and was searching for work even though he did not have an official work permit. He revealed that a bomb had been hidden in a sack of flour that was stashed with the family's belongings and sent to Israel. He admitted to investigators that he was to have given the bomb to a potential suicide bomber and assist him to reach Afula.

Abahra's confession led to the subsequent arrests in Ramallah the following day of Adnan Mutstafa Khalef, 31, and his brother in law Mohammed Abdullah Hoshieh, 30, both residents of Yamoun. According to the details released, the two were to have transported the 15-year old suicide bomber from their village to Ramallah and from there to assist him through the Rantis checkpoint into Israel.

Shortly after their arrests, security forces nabbed the Palestinian teenager who was to have perpetrated the attack. At the time of his arrest he was carrying a cellular phone and the NIS 1000 payment he had received from the operatives.

The Palestinian who transported the goods received his ID card as part of the Israeli family unification program. He received NIS 2,000 from Abahra to transport the goods from Yamoun southwards to Jerusalem, and from there – along Israeli roads – to the Merar region in the Galilee. There, he and his family waited in a tent along with his family amidst a group of illegal Palestinian workers.

The route they were to have taken to Afula began in Yamoun and from there to Arka, Kafirat, the Yabed Junction, Kafin Junction, A-til,Dir al Atsun, Shuweike, Tulkarm, Anabta, Hawara, Turmus Aya, Anata, Jerusalem and then Al Mughuyer near Ramallah.

Following his arrest, the two other Yamoun residents were arrested. The cell members belong to the Fatah's Tanzim and the Islamic Jihad terror groups.

Israel police sources, quoted Thursday night on Israel Television, state that following the affair, they have decided to put an end to the incidence of illegal Palestinian workers in the north.

Security officials revealed that in the past year a number of attacks involving Palestinians who entered Israel illegally have been thwarted. Officials noted that while the existence of the security fence has succeeded in thwarting attacks, it has forced terrorists to find alternative routes including towards the Jerusalem area, where the fence is not complete, or further into the Judea district. Those seeking to enter the Jerusalem area do so in areas where the security fence has not yet been constructed and then travel along Highway One and into Israel.

Another route used is the crossing in the Rantiss area or Bardele in the north Jordan Valley; no fence exists in both areas. Other routes used to enter Israel illegally include hiding in vehicles or smuggling items through at the terminals where there are back-to-back transfers of goods from trucks entering and leaving the West Bank. In the Jordan Valley, A-Ram Junction and Rantiss Junction, Palestinians enter Israel on foot using dirt trails and back roads in order to enter undetected. They also try to hitchhike in vehicles with Israeli license plates.

Once inside Israel they usually receive assistance from east Jerusalemites who have Israeli citizenship, or from Israeli drivers and taxi drivers. In the past year, there has also been a sharp rise in the number of Israeli Arabs who assist Palestinians who have entered Israeli illegally.

The only clear fact from the actions by the terrorists is that if there were no muslims there would be no terrorism
