John Kerry will be at Chautauqua Institute before the debate in Ohio rehearsing

Posted on 09/26/2004 8:39:37 PM PDT by SirFishalot

For those interested, Just found out from a friend that works there that Kerry is going to be rehearsing for the Ohio debate at the Institute. I'm trying to talk him into leaving JFK a little message from me on his podium. LOL.

Personally, I think Kerry is going to come off so abrasive at the debates that he's going to alienate voters anyways.

Didn't Gore rehearse at the Institute as well? - or was that Clinton in '96

Anyway, one of the dem candidates has done this recently before. Another Clinton influence?

Man I hope you are right that Kerry comes off as abrasive.

I support President Bush and don't care if he is a good debater or not - he is a good leader, and that is what matters to me. He has my vote regardless of how the debates go.

However, Kerry has a reputation of being a formidable debater. If he could retain this without the "smug intellectual" edge - actually show some charm(even if feigned). I fear he could take votes from President Bush.
The approximately 4% of undecided voters could swing this election in Kerry's favor. They would be suckers for a "good" debater if he can convince them he actually has a plan other than, "I can do better."

I am sorry to be so pessimistic. I hope I am absolutely stupid to worry. As a supporter of President Bush, the debates scare me. I so hope I am wrong.

I've been there, its about an hour away. It really is a beautiful place. Don't recall it being gated. They'll be watching out for you though.

Not during the "off season," which is all but about 11 weeks in the summer. Freep away. Hillary! loves that place. I wouldn't be surprised if this is just another piece of the puzzle leading to the Hillary '08 campaign.

My thoughts: If you know your policy & your platform, what the HECK is there to rehearse??? Oh yeah, I forgot, he flip flopped so much, he can't remember from one day to the other!!

Hillary probably convinced him that Americans would admire a man with convictions to admit he was on the wrong course and change. "Oh, no, John, no one would see that as flip-flopping. Go for it."

Yes, it is gated. But you can usually go in during the daytime. I used to go there a lot as a boy. I loved the place. Oddly, while I can readily believe that it is a liberal enclave, my boyhood host was a Republican Congressman (I was friends with his son).

Kerry has already BEEN abrasive. All week long in fact. It does not suit him well. Nor does he look well. Nor does he look presidential. And he attempts to articulate as if we are 'commoners' and do not understand the 'English' language.

I fail to understand why if we called Gore 'woody' why we have not done the same for Kerry. He is absolutely devoid of personality. At any rate, I look forward to the debates. Kerry has been 'decompensating' in the past week.

Of course, it would be 'signed, sealed and delivered' if we could have Laura vs Terezzzzzza for similar debates, but so be it for now....

All Democrats are considered 'formidable debators' just like they are considered smart.

It is a myth passed on by the MSM
