Dan Rather's a fellow Texan and I don't want to think ill of or hate the man (he's sort of like an old goofy grandpa), but I don't pity him for what's happened. He bet his career on the defense of obviously phony documents and the word of a politically-driven producer and in the end he lost.
I'm not going to dance on his grave, but I'm certainly not going to cry for him either.
