Dan Rather's journalism career is surely over.
Probably not.
Given his stature with The American (and International) Left,
he WILL get a job/position/title somewhere in the world of (guffaw!) "journalism".
AND some sort of "visiting scholar" position at multiple universities.
Che Guevara and Dan Rather:
The Similarity: Both suffering saints to Democrats, Socialists, Communists and Anarchists.
The Difference: One of them has actually assumed room temperature, despite the adulation.

But those positions signal that one's journalism career IS over. Whereas between a pension, social security, retirement account and investments, most of us are lucky to get by in our retirement years, hack journalists get these six-figure retirement sinecures, for a few snoozefest lectures per year at schools of journalism.
