Dan Rather's journalism career is surely over.Probably not. Given his stature with The American (and International) Left, he WILL get a job/position/title somewhere in the world of (guffaw!) "journalism".
But those positions signal that one's journalism career IS over. Whereas between a pension, social security, retirement account and investments, most of us are lucky to get by in our retirement years, hack journalists get these six-figure retirement sinecures, for a few snoozefest lectures per year at schools of journalism.

What the media does not realize is that FR has been breaking stories for years, usually just getting our lines borrowed for their stories and never giving FR credit. Ding! ding! ding! You are so right!

With all due respect and with no malisciousness, I think you are being snookered by Dan Rather. Rather had this information for months , no way a man with his experience could not have known it was phony. IMO
Rather is complicit in a plot to destroy the President, he is no longer reporting news he is involved in Partisan politics. Which is fine for as long as you admit it, but when you report news as a neautral . and get paid by a news organisation to slant the news it isnt ethical.
He had the forgeries for all of five days. The claim that Bush had not fulfilled his Guard obligations had been around for four or five years, but rumors don't count as "information." Otherwise, Rather would have run the same phony story in 2000, and now we would be deciding between re-electing Pres. Gore, or voting for his challeneger, Rudy Giuliani.

Arrogance is indeed the key word here. I've no doubt that all those lib "journalists" strongly believe that they and they alone have THE TRUTH!!, and it is for us mere peons to simply sit on the couch and receive their pearls of wisdom from on high.
