John Kerry blasted President Bush two weeks ago for failing to push for an extension of the assault weapons ban, saying he's never met anyone who wanted to use an AK-47 to shoot a deer.
But that was before Kerry admitted in a magazine interview that he owns a Chinese assault rifle.
"My favorite gun is the M-16 that saved my life and that of my crew in Vietnam," Kerry tells Outdoor Life in its October issue. "I don't own one of those now, but one of my reminders of my service is a Communist Chinese assault rifle." The Kerry campaign stonewalled questions on their candidate's illegal gun stash, with spokesman Michael Meehan telling the New York Times only that his boss was a registered gun owner in Massachusetts.
Meehan said that Kerry had unable to respond to questions about his banned weapon because his voice was too hoarse. The Kerry aide refused to return follow-up calls.
"It's O.K. for John Kerry to own these kinds of firearms, but it's not O.K. for John Q. Public?" complained National Rifle Association spokesman Andrew Arulanandam, in an interview with the Times.
"He certainly owes people an explanation as to why there's a double standard," Arulanandam added, noting that if the top Democrat brought his illegal assault rifle home from the war as a souvenir he could be subject to court-martial.
Busted!!
Obviously Kerry doesn't realize that John Q Public doesn't want to own AK-47s to protect himself from deer, but from John Kerry.
Well well well....John sKerry has proven once again that he is a number one HYPOCRITE!!!
Not that Kerry knows how to use it, anyway...
Who hasn't thought about bear hunting with shotgun slugs or using an AK to track game? Come on, it doesn't take that much imagination. The problem is when your fancy settles on a type of weapon that the gun grabbers have made off limits. It makes you think, "Why?" or "How come I can't?" and "Who says?" I think Kerry has the answers to those questions since he's allied himself with the ANTI-GUN LOBBY for all his political career.
When John Kerry brings up Viet Nam in the debates, as we know he will, President Bush should step over to him and give him back his medals. He can say something like, "Sen. Kerry, as a man who is proud of his service in Viet Nam and who has made it the centerpiece of his campaign, in hindsight do you think you might want these back?"
Exactly
Good.
Whatever happen to the uproar that he accepted a gun as a gift (illegal) in one of his publicity stunts to impress gun owvers of America.
What interview was this and in what magazine?
Chinese assault rifle? How did he get it back in the US? Remember, all CRATS are above the law. Check with Teddy boy and car in water. We could go on and on, but what is the use.
He is such an a**
Where is Janet Reno when you need her?
>>>"My favorite gun is the M-16 that saved my life and that of my crew in Vietnam," <<<<,
1. I always thought the M-16 was a rifle not a gun. Ya know, this is my rifle , this is my gun , this is for shooting , this is for fun. Maybe Navy guys didnt have that.
2. Is he speaking of the same weapon used to shoot the teen aged wounded Viet Cong in the back of the head with?
3. The gun that saved my life and the lives of my crew, isnt that just a little Grandiose'
The articles I've seen did not stste that he brought it back from VN. However, if he did, it would have been easy to crate it up and ship it directly to his new assignment. Recall that he went from VN to NY as an Admiral's aide.
Kerry is a total phoney, and WHY would a Red Chinese assault rifle be a reminder of your service in the U.S. military?
The article doesn't say WHEN he got it. It only says that he owns one. It was probably a thank you gift from the chineese for supporting communism, and being anti-American - a sorta lifetime achievement thing.

"Responding to a question from Outdoor Life about whether he is a gun owner, and if so, what's his favorite gun, Kerry strongly intimates he has an assault rifle, which is illegal to own both in Massachusetts and Washington, D.C."
The Kerry quote appears on Page 82 of the October issue of Outdoor Life. He told the magazine, "My favorite gun is the M-16 that saved my life and that of my crew in Vietnam. I don't own one of those now, but one of my reminders of my service is a Communist Chinese assault rifle."
Not a bad idea CPT. But I'll go ya one better. W should award him the Congressional Medal of Honor for being the Number One A$$hole on the Planet in killing our troops in time of combat with his Treasonous remarks. I just ordered a Kerry silouette. It should improve my aim.
