Official: Senior Taliban Commander and former Guantanamo POW Killed in Afghanistan

KANDAHAR, Afghanistan — Afghan security forces killed a senior Taliban () commander and two of his comrades in a raid in southern Afghanistan, an official said Sunday.
Maulvi Abdul Ghaffar, reportedly a former inmate at the U.S. prison at Guantanamo Bay (), Cuba, died in a gunbattle Saturday night in Pishi, a village in the southern province of Uruzgan, said Jan Mohammed Khan (search), governor of Uruzgan.

Why the heck was this guy released?
Has it occurred to the people in charge that this is a WAR. You don't release POWs before the war is over.

Take it easy. It's always a good idea to think it over first. The fact that this clown went from Gitmo to Afghanistan and ended up dead should tell you that somebody is doing something right, but too much discussion could kill the golden goose.
