I live on the 3rd floor. I just have to worry about the roof going airborne.
It took the hit last time.
Just heard on the radio- now a cat 3. but we are on the other coast and how far up it hits will determine our fate. At least I can head down to the Ft Myers or Naples area to avoid it.
Just announced we will be on the good side of the storm and 3-4 inches of rain possible.
Yes, we'll have to keep up with the news from people and their insurance claims. Some powerful freeping might be in order, on down the road. :)
See that little slice of VA that sort of sticks out in the water - that's my front door!!!!
Dear Lord, I feel so sorry for the folks in Florida. I don't want to get hit with a 'cane - but I am so praying for a miracle for Florida right now.
I got our normal hurricane supplies yesterday, beer for my hubby & wine for me. We are in Citrus Co. on the west coast north of St. Pete's & we are hearing that Jeanne may come for a visit.
I agree - we definitely will need an insurance thread. Shoot me a note when you set one up.
The fallout in the insurance market is going to be dramatic. It will be interesting to see the "populist" and "big money" factions line up to do battle, and to see where the various politicians stand.
I guess since yesterday Jeanne's tracked more to the west, which would have slowed it down as it hits land. In the NHC graphic from 11:00 this morning it's gonna hit the Old Dominion late Tues/early Wed like you said.
Yes, you are correct.
We'll see what the overnight/morning brings and then see if we can't get some FReeper insurance experts to chime in.
thanks for the post. Gee, it looks like another bowling ball.
Heads up (and down!) area 57 ping.
Remember: 3 days of food and supplies, load into car, head up to Nebraska -- or I'm thinkin' now, mebbe Idaho. Make it a freeper event.
I am so sorry. We all wish there was something we could do...all I can offer are my prayers. Praying for a miracle!!!
that is a very helpful map. pls ping me to updates, thanks.
Depending upon where you are if you wait till Monday you'll be making your ride home in a boat! :-)
Yes, we'll let you know.
Gabz, let's make sure we include this poster. :)
I have a feeling we will have a much needed thread. Groan.
Very true.
It's like we're one big group of beat up, bruised, and weary people.
We can't be defeated though!
I just got the generator ready, (again) and my neighbor ran his two cords over for me to hook up, if and when we lose power. At least we will have refrigeration and a fan to keep our sanity. ;)
Offering prayer is plenty and very much appreciated! Thanks to all who are praying!
Ditto that. I've loved my visits to Florida (Jacksonville & Miami). May I express my anger? Dear Lord: Enough already! Please, give the good people of Florida and the southern states a respite from these storms!
Dr. Steve Lyons of the Weather Channel said that Hurricane Jeanne will cause massive destruction in Florida. Jeanne is a Category 3 hurricane and is strengthing.
Hey! We are in Inverness. ;)
D? I am only a C! Lucky dog!
