BAGHDAD, Iraq Sept. 25, 2004 — Gunmen opened fire on a vehicle carrying Iraqi National Guard applicants in Baghdad on Saturday, killing six people, police said. The group had just left a national guard recruiting center where they had signed up to join the force in the west Baghdad neighborhood of Al-Jamiyah when the attack occurred, said police Lt. Omar Ahmed.
On Wednesday, a suicide attacker detonated a car bomb outside a photocopy shop in Al-Jamiyah where national guard applicants were readying their papers before heading to the recruiting center. At least six people died and 54 were wounded.
Militants waging a 17-month insurgency have repeatedly targeted Iraqi security forces and would-be recruits in a bid to thwart U.S.-backed efforts to build a strong Iraqi force capable of taking over security from American troops. Hundreds have been killed.

The ideological worldview believed in by the MSM {and our Left} has turned their brains to mush. By covering up for and commisserating with terrorists, these fools are in essence, being sympathetically understanding towards rabid predators who, whlile appreciating the 'help'fom the 'useful idiots', will turn on and destroy them in a heartbeat. And why not? Who respects condescending fools who also happen to be infidels?
Have those people ever heard of the words "armed escort?" They know these volunteers have been attacked before. Sheesh!
