Disgusted look on the Marine's face tells me that he is mentally contemplating how many years in Leavenworth he'd get for decking the pompous windbag in front of him.

This is the kind of thing that goes unseen to the majority of Americans, but is the PROOF that GWB is a great man.

He gives his full attention to each person he greets, leans forward, treats as equal. If he could personally meet every American one by one he would do the same all the way.

Character is also what you do when the cameras aren't rolling. This is genuinely decent man who I'm proud to have as my Commander-In-Chief. Three cheers for "W"!

Yeah, Bush (the fighter pilot) is afraid to fly....what a load from the DUmmies. They are retarded.

I LOVE this story. Bush does a lot of things like this that get little news attention. For example, the story of him jogging with the soldier who lost his leg. Bush visited him in the hospital & after speaking with him about his recovery period (the soldier said he would be running within a year on a prosthetic leg)....Bush promised him they would jog together when that happened.....and they did.

Kerry would have been complaining about the heat on the plane and blaming the "conductor" who set it up so he had to wait for the World plane to arrive.

Shalom.

I took it as more a crappy aside with the political comments. The end zinger with the fact they still had their ballots was an attempt to make the whole thing a cheap political stunt.
It failed. You could tell the troops loved him. The reporter made an effort to find the one undecided among the hundreds of pro Bush troops.

Kerry to aide:

And the next time make sure you order a 'happy meal' or whatever the forbes it is and make sure you get me a toy. You got that?"

Shalom.

I read it in the Washington Post this morning. It is remarkable because Dana Milbank is notoriously hostile to our President.

I notice tho that Milbank had to drop a snide little remark at the end about the troops having just received absentee ballots. Leopards don't change their spots.

"All the soldiers had been given absentee ballots in the day or two before they departed. Many still had the ballots with them."

Sounds like the reporter is worried that the soldiers may now be voting for Bush where they might not have before!
