A South Florida woman sound asleep in her bed suffered head injuries this morning when a stolen SUV slammed into her house, police say.
"I just felt something hit me in the head and debris. And I could taste it in my mouth," said Charlotte Bynes. "I jumped up and I didn't even look back ... I just ran out of the room in a panic and I still didn't know what was going on."
Bynes was taken to the hospital after flying debris cut her head. Doctors stapled shut the deep wounds and Bynes was able to return home. Bynes said her 16-year-old son Brandon slept through the whole thing even though debris landed on him too.
Police are trying to find out what led up to the crash. They have arrested a 15-year-old boy who they said stole the SUV from the South Florida Auto Auction.
Officers said they were not chasing the teen when he crashed, but some witnesses in the nieghborhood said they saw the SUV and a police cruiser skid on wet streets as they rounded a corner just before the crash. BSO is conducting an investigation into what happened.
I swear I get a little "exited" when I see the picture of the new truck.... maybe I could just lease it for a year........
"He did fight in Viet Nam you know."
I heard rumors he was over there, you say he actually got in a fight? Was it in a bar or in a whorehouse? You can get in trouble for brawling with your shipmates.
What an evil SUV.
