There's no torture involved. Hello, torturing the animal would cause it stress and reduce the quality of the meat. Sick animals do not produce good meat.

A little common sense, here, please.

the treatment of the animal is not needless - how else are they going to make fois gras?

Think of all the jobs created by the pate industry. Think of the freedom of property - these geese are the property of the owners.

I agree, we are better people if we don't torture animals but some of these folks make it the reason they live.

Can people eat pate if the animals aren't mistreated? Say from regular livers. Paul would probably say no.
