Democrats moved quickly to fuel skepticism, denouncing Allawi's message in unusually pointed terms.
While Kerry was relatively restrained in disputing Allawi's upbeat portrayal, some of his aides suggested that the Iraqi leader was simply doing the bidding of the Bush administration, which helped arrange his appointment in June.
"The last thing you want to be seen as is a puppet of the United States, and you can almost see the hand underneath the shirt today moving the lips," said Joe Lockhart, a senior Kerry adviser.

These people are gutless shamless wonders.
I thought Allawi was not the administration's choice but was picked by the "locals". Maybe that was his predecessor.
Allawi wasn't the administration's public choice. Though that may have been a Machiavellian game, where the Governing Council rejected the perceived US choice in favor of Allawi, thus demonstrating independence.
Lockhart was and is a disgrace.
These people are the slime of the earth. They are an embarrassment to our country.
Allawi wasn't on John Kerry's Swift Boat in Vietnam, so he couldn't possibly be telling the truth. </sarcasm>
"'... you can almost see the hand underneath the shirt today moving the lips,'" said Joe Lockhart, a senior Kerry adviser"
Given how visible his hand was beneath Dan Rather's shirt, I wouldn't dare question his expertise in this area.
PATHETIC!
Prime Minister Allawi risked his life as an outspoken critic of Saddam as an exile and continues to be a target for death as PM in Iraq. How dare Kerry and Lockhart be so outrageously pathetic.
The former Clinton press spokesman is calling someone else a puppet??? Why he's Pinnochio himself!
I guess, from a puppet's point of view, like Lockhart, there's only a small handful of people who actually think for themselves. To people like Lockhart the rest of us are simply doing our "master's will".
Sorry Joe. You're the only puppet in this story. The rest of us have our own thoughts and goals, and sometimes they're mutual.
Hmpf. Well, I for one want them to just keep on with this kind of thing. It's been too long that the Dem Party has been the boytoy of the delusional Hard Left. The drugs long since kicked in and the brain-deadness has started to leak out their ears. Long past time Americans got to see it, in concentrated, day-by-day doses. Lockhart is just being helpful, actually: he's making it clear that to be a Democrat is to be inhumane and despotic. People should know this so that the prior Democratic Party (you know, the one where patriots were celebrated, not castigated, the one Scoop Jackson used to represent) can be recovered.
Then again, if they do a complete enough job, we'll have the problem that there'll only be the Republican Party standing. That would be better than only the Democratic Party standing, but not by much and only for a short time.
These people (like Lockhart) have a lot to answer for.
Kerry is a hawk today.
Kerry Belittles, Disrespects The New Democratic Iraq President In Effort To Bolster Iraq's "Freedom Fighters"!
I'm so conflicted by these reports.
On the one hand, I'm excited to see the Democrats shooting themselves in the face. You can win if you only shoot your foot, but they're going for broke.
On the other, I don't want the Republicans to get lazy. I think a two party system is a good thing when it's honest and keeps both sides fair. But they're just handing us this election on a silver platter.
We need to come up with something better than socialist to describe these nutjobs.
Lunaticists
Crazists
Batshitists
oh wait....TREASONISTS! Yes, the treasonists of 2004. Tearing down your country so you don't have to. Insulting allies since Vietnam.
... you can almost see the hand underneath the shirt today moving the lips,'" said Joe Lockhart, a senior Kerry adviser whos fingers were still covered in ink from recently forged documents and lips were still fimely planted on Dan Rather's buttocks."
If Lockhart and Kerry want Allawi to suffer the same fate as Anwar Sadat they're doing a good job of it.
I can not beleive Kerry mentioned the British gentleman who begged for his life. I wish harm on no one, but to plead for mercy like that Brit only condemns all those who follow. I am reminded of the Italian who ripped his hood off and said he will show the world how an Italian dies.

When the news medias (DSM)or(LSM)are showing ONLY the bad things in Iraq, it reminds me of how they could portray false images in the movie "Wag the Dog"!!!

"Kerry is a hawk today"
So far, anyway.
