We send Egypt money as the bride for having signed the Camp David accords, and so as not to attack Israel in future. We should end aid to both nations (and all others).
Should we end support for Taiwan and South Korea? There's a difference between Egypt and Israel. One is a western country with a classically liberal, democratic form of government. It's one of the most advanced nations on the planet. The other is a hotbed of backward Islamism, squalor everywhere, with no real direction for the future other than hatred for Israel.
America either stands for freedom and encourages its friends to stay free, or else will eventually be surrounded by enemies and hated and held in contempt by all. The real reason we are seeing so much anti-Americanism is that we abandoned so many friends under stealth isolationists Carter and Clinton.
We'll be paying for their foolishness for 150 years.
I tend to agree - why should my tax dollars go to foreign countries.
A billion dollars a year for the last 30 years.... What better purpose could that money have been put to over that time frame?
But it's ok - the government's old policy of "go ahead - spend it, we'll take more" applies.
