NO Complacency!..But I like positive polls even though I don't trust them.
Kerry is definitely fading in the Midwest. I'm from Illinois & G.W. isn't that far behind here & you all know what a dem-o-state Illinois is!
The final map will look a lot like that, but with a red PA and MN.
Pretty much looks like the map I had all along - I recently added one EV for Maine and Bush leads with 322 EVs (up from 321 earlier today when I didn't give him one EV from Maine, which I hear he would get if the election was held today).
Add Oregon & Minnesota and you get 339. The bad news is I don't see any more EVs for Dubya on the map, sorry.
this make me feel better every day, but I'll really relax after sKerry gives his concession speech and Bush is sworn in as President (again) comes January.
Mighty fine looking map.
And if the Electoral College was eliminated, those blue states would run the entire country.
The red in Maine is on the wrong side of the state. The guy gives one electoral vote out of Maine for Bush at this point, which I think is right, but he mixed up the CD's. LOL. I think the map might be close to right, except for New Mexico maybe, if the the election were held today. But it isn't being held today, and Florida is skin tight, along with Iowa, which is dead even. And without New Mexico and Florida, Bush wins in the House, and without Bush winning Iowa, Kerry wins. This election is still tight.
Why are we RED again? I thought incumbents were blue.
The problem for him now is that of anyone who's cornered--he's nervous, and starting to act out of that desperation. I think he pours on the negativity, and that has a backfire effect. It's not so much what you're saying now--it's the comfort level people feel toward you, because those who are voting purely on issues are already decided. And for the next week, they will see a "fighting" Kerry--and that means a bitter, lip-licking, water-slurping, "Wrong, wrong, wrong!" tightass billionaire bride telling US how WE are "wrong" for not getting behind him...while our President tells us we are strong and must continue to stand together.
In the coming weeks Bush will be asking us to look to the better sides of our natures, while Kerry plays the bitter elitist. Ain't gonna be pretty. Ain't gonna work.
Bump it up!
Do NOT get cocky. It's not over until Kerry is back home in one of his mansions crying on TahRahZah's shoulder and she is pushing him away in disgust.
My calculations show these states as Kerry locks:
Vermont
Massachusetts
Connecticutt
Rhode Island
New York
Delaware
DC
Michigan
California
I think everything else is either Bush country or in play. Although Oregon, Washington and Maryland are probably long shots.
Somewhere, Judy Woodruff and Al Hunt are forming a suicide pact...
Be prepared for the Demonrats to do what they did in 2000: they will come up with some distorted truth (like the drunk driving thing) and lie about it through their teeth. We must be vigilant and prepared to take this on.
In other good news, the excellent web site electoral-vote.com has just today modified their Senate prediction from 51 likely Republican seats (where it has been for some time) to 52 Republic seats.
No complacency is right. I don't trust ANY of these polls. I never put it past the media to launch a coordinated fraudulent scheme.
"CNN:...John Kerry fading in the Midwest and his chances of unseating the incumbent fading fast:"
Boy is that sweeet music.
Kerry: FFFFfffffffffffffffft.
