Massachusetts Democrat Brian Golden Endorses President Bush

Earlier today, Democratic Massachusetts State Representative Brian Paul Golden announced that he will support President Bush in November over fellow Bay State Democrat John Kerry. Golden’s endorsement comes after witnessing President Bush’s accomplishments on education, Medicare and security issues. In contrast, Golden says that after following John Kerry’s 20-year senate career in Massachusetts, he still doesn’t know what Kerry stands for.

“America needs a president who cares more about doing what is right than doing what is politically expedient. Both at home and abroad, President Bush has made tough decisions and shown a clarity of purpose that makes America stronger and safer,” Golden said.

“President Bush is the right candidate to lead America in the War on Terror because his decisions are based on principle, not politics. Senator Kerry demonstrated a troubling approach to the War on Terror by voting against $87 billion in funding to equip our troops in Iraq with essential supplies like body armor. I have confidence in President Bush as Chief Executive and I will proudly work for his re-election.”

Golden joins a long list of Democrats who have endorsed the President and have formed the Democrats for Bush coalition. Golden has served as a Massachusetts state representative since 1999 and he also serves on the education, arts and humanities, ways and means, government regulations and judiciary committees.

Hey all this is my first time posting hope I did it right.

Did you note the warm reception Liebermann gave Alawi today while the main body of dems in the Congress were rather stone faced. I think if Kerry continues his leftist pro Saddam speak to appease his leftist core, Liebermann will have almost no choice but to become a democrat for Bush

Golden joins a long list of Democrats who have endorsed the President

Does anyone have that list, by any chance?

You wouldn't happen to be Rep. Golden, would you?

If you'll excuse me, I have a dinner at Locke-Ober that I must not miss.

The wakeup call is being heard by Boston's Jewish voters. Couple this with Ed Koch in NY and you can see Lurch being run over by the New Exodus.

I dream of Joe Lieberman jumping ship.

Kerry's duality rap isn't working for him at any level. He'd be a disaster for western civ.

"Ok when's Lieberman gonna get on board??"

You took the words out of my mouth.

After Allawi's speech this morning, Lieberman kissed him on the cheek 3 times along with a small hug. While Lieberman would never change parties (I think), I'm sure deep down in his heart, he knows the President is right. Anyone have an email address for him?

"Somebody should start putting together a list of Dems who have endorsed Bush. I believe the Democrat mayor of St.Paul, Minnesota endorsed Bush. Can anyone think of others (besides Zell..) ?"

Former New York Mayor Ed Koch.

He didn't have to endorse anyone -- he could have kept his mouth shut.
I don't know Brookline or Mass., for that matter, but logic dictates he wouldn't greatly risk his job for an endorsement.

You did good! And even MA has a few democrats who know a landslide when they see one coming. Kerry must be absolutely furious over this endorsement. I don't know which district Golden serves, but if it's Lowell, Kerry didn't bother to show up at a veterans' affair recently, didn't bother to send an I'm sorry, but I'm busy elsewhere note, didn't bother to send a surrogate. The vets were furious, notified Kerry headquarters, and were ignored. So they wrote to the local newspaper...Lowell Sun. Big embarrassment. Things don't look good in Kerryland. Rats jumping overboard into the Charles River.

odd how this has been missed by the mainstream media. When Guliani endorsed Clinton the media was ecstatic with stories of Republicans abandoning Dole.

I can't say for sure, I haven't lived in MA for over 10 years, but given the leftist leanings and mindset, I'd say he should move to New Hampshire.

The only problem with that is so many MA residents are moving up to N.H. and are trying to remake it in MA's image.

Oh, people in Maine used to call Mass. Residents a nickname because of there lack of driving ability: "Massholes"...

Well, Lincoln Chaffee has...not endorsed Bush. He hasn't went so far as to say he'd vote for Kerry, he's suggested he may write-in somebody, but only because it won't matter in Rhode Island (true).

That's about as close as Kerry has gotten.

Good news, but not suprising news.

In locales which are one-party Democrat party strongholds like Massachusetts or the City of Pittsburgh, a significant number of politicians and people will register with that party to preserve their electability.

Interesting bio. I presume from his name that he's Jewish.

His record includes Boston Latin and Harvard. Boston Latin is known as a school where very bright kids who can't afford the prep school route can get a great education and get into places like Harvard. As it happens, one of my roommates at Harvard way back when was a Jewish kid who came there from Boston Latin.

In other words I suspect that this guy is bright, ambitious, hard driving, and largely self-made. His daddy didn't buy him a place at Harvard, he made it on his own.

Good luck to him.

He's Catholic. Golden can be either an Irish or Jewish name.
