A "meaningful question" is one that elicits a headline. That's why you saw at that Bush press conference a while back 15 different "questions" that could all be paraphrased "will you apologize?"
Anyway, it's Kerry that said Bush was living in a Fantasy World because he doesn't watch enough TV. That statement begs any number of follow up questions, such the one that was asked, or "What other deep truths is President Bush missing out on by not watching as much TV as you do?"
Unfortunately this is what reporters think and are trained to think. This is why the state of journalism is in the tank.
