I think there have been many excellent sex columnists in the past decade. Unfortunatly, as is usually the case with any movement or trend, many have jumped on bandwagon and the quality of the writing has devolved into junk and shrill politicicing of sex. The trend is over. Let's drive a stake through it and move on.
I find it hilarious that 20-somethings are giving sex advice.
Wisdom comes from experience.
All of these ditzes are simply acting out on their Carrie Bradshaw fantasies.
There's no way a silly campus news column is going to sway kids who are raised right. (Thank their parents) The target audience for this trash is already willing.......... and able.
I do not concede that "abstinence-only" campaigns equate to ignorance.
College students are adults. No one reads college newspapers except college students. Can't say it's my choice of literature, but not sure it's that ghastly either.
The crummy system dumbs 'em down, then colleges whine that they're so dumb! we have to do something!
It's like a sick joke.
"All of these ditzes are simply acting out on their Carrie Bradshaw fantasies."
Exactly - "Sex and the City" was a brilliant show - all of the cheap imatators should be sent packing. The series is over- deal with it. - perky young women should be busy searching for the next trend instead of badly ripping off previous trends.
I'd be wary about accepting sex advice from someone named "Eitches"
bingo. Plus writing said columns attaches a big "I'm a ho" neon sign to their foreheads.
But it can tempt them. This is sad. I'm glad my college student lives at home. And so is she!
Yet another symptom of the "porn-star chic" fad.
It's ironic that there are conflicting philosophies on campus.
On one hand, the feminists scream that if a man so much as looks at you or holds a door open for you, that he is sexually harrassing you and you should 'make him pay.'
Usually followed up with the statement 'Women are not sex objects.'
On the other hand, they give weird advice, sometimes hold to the philosophy that a woman should be able to sleep with twenty men in ten minutes and not be thought of as cheap and easy.
Heard a woman complain the other day that she's "having a hard time getting men to notice her."
I said in response, "that's because if he so much as says that you look nice, you'll have him up on sexual harrassment charges quicker than a blink."
It's hard to be young, male and hetero these days.
It is wonderful to see the bastions of higher learning are preparing future leaders for success in the world.

I'm a sophomore at a small mid-western university. I consider myself an attractive guy but average looking and I am quite shy. Little did I dream that I would ever have an adventure worthy of the sexploits that I have read in the forum and, quite frankly, I always figured your letters were written by a stable of aspiring young journalism majors. That is, until last night...
Huh? what?
Oh!
Heh, heh, oops...
Wrong forum.... sorry...
I'm soooooo embarrassed...

Somewhere her parents are bursting with pride.
It's really tough to believe that college students actually need sexual advice. Having graduated high school in the 70s without any sex ed that I recall, I knew pretty much everything there was to know by 16 or 17. I mean, the library was crammed with books about sex.
Maybe if they read more...
